Newbie saying hello! Will have a \'04 in a few months

Hello All! Have just found your board and it’s seems like a great place.

We will have our car paid off in April of 2004 and have already decided to get an ’04 SVT focus.
I want a K &N cold intake setup and that will probably be it until I get out of school in dec. ’04. Then I might mod it over time. It will probably stay mostly stock, since I really need a decent driver, that I can cut up in when I feel like it. I will probably have lots of questions for you folks from time to time, but I will probably just try to read up and learn from your collective knowledge. Any modification advice will be appreciated and even though it is still a few months away, I will post pics as soon s I get it.

Welcome. You have a color picked out? Euro package? Details please.
Oh, by the way the K&N is not a true cold air intake since the filter is located under the hood, but still looks like a quality piece. More of a "short ram" set up. Just to clarify. Have fun with your new car! You are gonna love it! O, and I got my JRSC installed, so I can recomend that as a performance upgrade!

Welcome from another newbie. This seems to be one of the best places on the internet to get information about the SVT Focus.

Post details about your new car...

Thanks for the welcome. As for color, I like the silver, and the blue. I am going to get the 5 door model, so I don't think I can get the euro colors can I? I am going for the audiophile upgrade, the sunroof will just depend on if they have the one I want and it has it. I wouldn't not take it, but I am not that interested in having it. Thanks for the info on the K&N. I guess I really do have a lot to learn.
The really hard part is going to be the waiting. But, I am going to take advantage of the wait by getting all the info I can. Is the JRSC a supercharger? I am going to have to get a hold on these letter meanings
I would LOVE to have it supercharged, but I would definantly have to have it installed for me, and I am not to sure how many shops can do that here in Arkansas. Most of the custom work is done on trucks. what other mods would the supercharger require, and could you give an approx. cost? Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Re: Newbie saying hello! Will have a \'04 in a few months

First of all, the euro package (including the competition orange and screaming yellow colors) WILL be available on the 2004 SVTF5s. So that's good news.

Nice choice, but if you are wanting a SMOKING deal, try to find a 2003 on clearance now. I picked up my 2003 SVTF5 at the end of August for about $15,000 after rebates, discounts, and a $1500 trade in.

Where in Arkansas are you? If you are in the Fayetteville area, Ford of Tulsa, less than 2 hours away, still has a Red 2003 SVTF5 with audiophile, moonroof, and HID that I bet you could get a great deal on.

Once you get your car, you will have to drive to Tulsa for a G2G.

Welcome to the jet! You will love this place. The people here have helped me out so much that I just can't even praise them enough. It's a great place to be, and a great car to have. You'll read about a lot of problems with the SVTF here, but I have an '02 that has yet to have any major problems, and '02 was the first year for this car! All cars have problems, but for the money, my SVTF (got it for $15,900 with audiophile and sunroof) has been great.

I think you will find that of the 4 options, sunroof is the most common, followed by Audiophile, and then HID or winter package (depends on location - sunbelt or not). This is if you're going to buy from stock instead of ordering the car. Even living in the northeast, I don't think I found one car that did not have a sunroof on it, when I was looking for my car.

At this point, having gotten all options, there is not one that I wish I had declined - the biggest surprise has been the HID lights - no comparison with the regular ones - a friend has a ZX3, and I have compared them with mine.

I agree that you should maybe look for an '03, unless your buying timetable really dictates April - the changes for '04 (different wheels and a 5-door Euro package) don't make me wish I'd waited.
