Well since a few of you stated you would be interested I thought I would throw a few dates out.

First off, here is the website of the brewery:

http://www.russianriverbrewing.com/pages/brews/barrel.html

Where: Santa Rosa, CA

**EDIT**

The date has been set!!

Friday November 18th - Sat 19th

** Here's the best part guys. If this is something we would like to continue we can do this same trip on a different weekend up to Chico for Sierra Nevada and down to Paso Robles for Firestone. I think I'll speak for Hale as well as myself, you guys would be welcome to come hang out down in Fresno on a Friday night and we could drive down to Firestone for that trip from our place just like we would do from your places up in Sac for the others. Don't worry Bay Area folks, we can do a trip to Anchor Brewing Co followed by dinner at the Englander to sample all kinds of goodies as well!

October is jacked for me, but those other dates look mighty fine to me!

Russian River is, in mine and many other people's opinions, the best brewery in the world. That October weekend is out for me, but the other dates should be fine. There are a bunch of other awesome breweries in the North Bay that could also be checked out. My boss and I did a tour once from San Francisco north, ending at Russian River. Lagunitas, Marin Brewco, Moylan's, Third Street (which is around the corner from RR), etc.

I dunno what it is about Sonoma County, but somehow they produce the world's best beer AND wine. :)

Marin County has some wonderful roads as well, but a twisty day brewery tour is probably a horrible idea. Perhaps a twisty day that ends at RR. :)

Ok boys (and girls who haven't chimed in yet) we need to settle on a date. Chris said Nov 18th works, does anyone oppose?

#10 ·
I'll have to check with my social director and see if anything important needs to be cancelled so we can attend but 11/18 might work.

#11 ·
Should work for me, I'll be in Santa Cruz on the 17th, so I can take a detour on my way back to Sacramento.

#14 ·
CRAP! Looked at the household calendar last night. The 18/19th is the week-end before T-day. We will be visiting The Toads at that time. :(

#15 ·
Well does anyone have a conflict the weekend before? (I think Hale might)

#17 ·
Neither can I, already comitted to playing in a racquetball tourny.

Plus my B-day is on the 15th, so this would be an awesome 30th b-day present!

#18 ·
Yeah, the weekend prior might not work well for me, either.

I hear ya on that, Mike - we can both cuddle with Lorin. With trips like this, I like to be real careful. Ideally, when we get to RRBC, it will be early-ish and we can hang out afterward to allow any potential buzzes to go away. We could all park a couple blocks away at Fremont park and play some frisbee, etc. after having a couple pints at the brauhaus.

We need a DD and we can take my company van. Lots O seats and we can put it into helicopter mode on the way home.

I love hellacopters.

So should we set the date?

Craig is unfortunately out, but it seems November 18th and 19th works for everyone else. Correct?

#27 ·
I will miss having Craig on this trip :( That bastard goes beer and/or wine tasting every other weekend, though!

#30 ·
Yup. Tag me out for this one. :( I'll miss you guys.

And Aaron... You're right. Tomorrow we are heading to Sonoma and Gloria Ferrer champagne for a special event and then to Jack Russell Brewery in Camino Sunday to take advantage of our growler Groupon.

It's official, Craig goes on enough drinking trips without us... errr, I mean: It's official! The date has been set.

:D
