where can i buy an o2 cheater harness for the second o2 sensor on the off road pipe.so it wont trip the code..........

dont waste your money. they dont do crap except make your CEL not come on. Other than that it doesnt make a difference.

im with boosted on this. $40 and no CEL-how much do i have to pay for a speedometer that says 60mph about 3 seconds faster?

i had off road pipe and it was on for about 3 weeks. no difference in anything.

what about if something else goes wrong and your CEL is already on cause of your exhaust. You won't know til the other light starts flashing or whatever happens when something real bad's goin on. or is that the emissions light or whatever it is? so many lights i don't even know what's what.

the cheater isnt worth it. Getting rid of the stock cat is the biggest gain you will get out of your focus other than FI or nitrous. You wouldnt believe how restrictive that thing is. Only thin the CEL will harm is the CEL bulb. It will probably burn out after a while, but then you at least wont have to look at it

and then when you have a REAL problem, you won't know until your car dies on the side of the road. then you'll come home, get on here, and post something like "car dies without reason" in the problems forum.

I am sorry I will not support the sales of these especially since mine didnt even work when I got it and nothing was done for me when I told who I bought it from that it didnt work.

Are you sure the CEL was from the o2 sensor and not something else? Did you get it scanned?

I had a check engine light for a while with my o2 cheater, I just thought it wasn't working. Well I took it to ford and then determined that you can't extend the wires on the first O2 sensor because it wasn't reading a signal. So all of you who need to extend the wires, extend the harness not the actual sensor wires.

There was no code for the second O2 with the cheater in place.

I feel the same way. I put the cheater on when I had the header put on because the CEL and it works fine, but you should not drive around with the CEL on for the reason above.

If you don't want to pay for the cheater, you can build one at home like I did. Costs almost nothing as it is made of a resistor and a cap.

And it works great. Even the diagonistic software at the dealer reports no errors with the off-road pipe and cheater

nicknaz, what you said is very untrue. The computer just throws a code saying it cant find the cat, but does not change fuel curves or timing. And even if it did, then damn, I gained a lot of hp from that changed timing.

if what you all say is true, then why has my car been running lean since the day i installed the off road pipe?

i've asked this a thousand times, will the cheater harness send the right voltage reading to the ECU so that a/f ratio is right on target?

#18 ·
i dont know why youre running lean. How do you know youre running lean. I am going to get my car scanned and see if the cel is from anything else as soon as I get a chance.

Well, does anyone know what happens to A/F curves when you use a 4-2-1 race header that has the first sensor only at 2 cylinder output (after the first Y)?

I have this setup since yesterday (yes, I did a reset after install) and don't know if I will encounter any problems later.

Well I ordered my FC race header and didn't order a O2 cheater, I hear mixed feeling about it, guys say it is a great thing to buy because it doesn't make the cel come on but some guys have problems I don't fell like having my car die on the side of the road so I think I'm going to buy the O2 harness, Guys who got the harness, is it a good purchase you think, and what is a cel.

Well, the diagram I used is at:

http://www.zx2racing.com/mods/mods_mil.htm

And it has been working flawlessly for 10000+ miles. As I have said before, even the official scanning sofware reported no errors. My milage is good, and have no performance problems. So this is strictly a "if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck; it is a duck" situation. This thing works...

I would rather spend some soldering time than have the CEL on...
