Re: OBD II ScAN TOOL FOR PDA\'s

That's cool but why a PDA. IMO PDA's suck. Laptops are where it's at

Check this guy out http://obddiagnostics.com/

This guy builds the cables himself. They even smell like cigaretts when you get it in the mail.

It's cheap and he updates the software, for free, very often (infact there's a new version as of 4 days ago).

I have one of his second gen boxes and it works like a champ. Combined with the service manual on cd you are unstoppable diagnosis machine!

Also his scanner works with any OBD-II compliant auto. He is also adding new protocols and extending the current supported protocols.

Re: OBD II ScAN TOOL FOR PDA\'s

I just bought a Sony CLIE PDA, and I was thinking "wow, gotta get this software!" Then I saw the price - $220 and $35 for the cable. I only paid $199 for the PDA! Think I'll just get a base model OBDII scanner.

PDA is wayyyy cheaper. A *decent* laptop that's going to be worth using (for anything other than an OBDII scanning) is going to be well above 1000 bucks.

They have anything out there for PocketPC Based PDAs? Might be worth getting if they do

I was just sitting here thinking how incredibly cool it would be to have a PC in my car, being able to pull this guy's program up on my dash-mounted monitor (a la zx3chris)...

I'm such a geek. I think that's prob'ly one of the coolest things ever!
