Just the very tippy tip or the handle broke off. If you had to guess how big of a piece is it? If it small it will float to the bottom of the pan and you may be able to drain the oil and use a flex magnet tool through the drain plug hole to retrieve it. Otherwise drop the pan. If it's the whole thing just remove the dipstick tube from the block. Hope this helps?!?!?!?
