I was wondering what you all thought would be the rarest color of the Focus. I figure black will be the most popular. I know we won't know until after they're produced but any ideas?

My guess would be sonic blue the most popular, just for the exclusivity people. Black and red tied for 2nd and silver being the rarest. The silver looks pretty nice, but it's a subdued look. This market segment wants grabbier colors on the whole.

I like the blue, but a blue sports hatch brings back images of the blue 260Z (with an auto trans

)that my mom had in the '70s. God, that car was a lemon. Among other things if you braked hard it would sometimes stall, killing the power brakes and leaving you half out of control. No blue hatch for me. If they had a sonic purple....

Here's my guesses:

Sonic Blue = 40%
CD Silver = 25%
Infra Red = 20%
Pitch Black = 15%

Hopefully that adds up to 100%

From the responses we've gotten here on color choices, I have pretty strong feelings that the break down will looks something like that.

It will be interesting to see where it ends up. As others have said though, with the Blue being the only unique - "hey, that's an SVT Focus" - color and also looking INCREDIBLE in person, you can be certain it will be the most popular color by far.

BTW: Silver is the best choice

ah..decisions decisions...black or silver ...black for the rare (assuming Peloton's assumptions are correct...which btw seem probable) and stealth look (black on black wheels with a polished lip...sweeeeeet

), or the 'subdued' conservative, strong but not outspoken look.

blue's too trendy for me, and red is too flashy.

This is now a well known fact as we've had the discussion before. Sonic Blue is still unique to the SVT model in the Focus lineup so that's what makes it desirable. Plus, as I mentioned, the car looks INCREDIBLE in that color. Here's a picture to prove it.

I have been sold on the Sonic Blue until this photo. If the red interior improves, my SVT Focus brochure shows a great shot of a red one. Of course if I didn't want to wait I could drive off our lot with a black '02 Mustang GT.

Oh the waiting.

Based on my own guessing, I think Blue will be the most popular color. My thoughts are:

1. Sonic Blue - 40%
2. Infa Red - 30%
3. Pitch Black - 20%
4. CD Silver - 10%

There are many schools of thought. Personally I love the way the Blue looks, but I don't need any more help attracting attention. So I ordered CD Silver, for the stealth approach..

Infra-red is obviously my favorite, but the color is unique... so I might go with that for that reason alone.

Anyone thats into Focus performance would be able to tell in a nano-second that thats a real SVT just due to the paint.

Afterall, guys like me might put on a SVT body kit if I can get it cheap enough.

Love the wheels too, but I already have non-stock in the size I want.

mind if a fellow SVT owner chimes in? I think what color will be the rarest depends on what color SVT doesn't offer the next year. For instance, Sonic Blue could be a 1 year only color. Same with CD Silver. I'm surprised SVT isn't offering white

But given how alot people here on the board like Sonic Blue and I must admit you guys got a waaaay better blue than us Cobra owners (True Blue sucks), probably black will be the rarest. Black is kinda plain compared to the other colors (and a pain to keep clean!). Hope you gusy enjoy the SVT's. I'm kinda anixous to see one in person my self. Maybe this August at SVT Experience

I honestly think that all the colors look kickin. It just depends on what you like. I personally like things to differentiate from eachother. The Sonic Blue is obviously the unique color to the SVT for this year so and it stands out. I like the red because the contrast between the black grilles and trim stands out. I like Black because it makes the car look extremely sleek and sweet and I like Silver because it stands out. That all are great colors... but I'm goin with the Blue

I too believe all the colors look good. Blue and red being the most ticket-getting ones. Black being dirt and scratch-prone, and silver being rather dull, but can't be scratched and basically camouflages into the road. But at any rate, I wanted to ask a question.

What interiors will you all get. Blue on blue, and red on red I'm assuming. But what about for you silver/black SVT likers. Black exterior on red interior would be HOT. Silver with blue would be nice...But what y'all think?

Last time we checked the order bank, all of the colors were neck-and-neck -- between 23% to 28% each. Looks like it's gonna be a tough call as to "most exclusive."

But, thinking to the future, if we were to do another color unique to the SVT Focus (within the Focus lineup), and make it a limited-production color, what color(s) would you like to see?

I have a 2000 white ZX3 (soon to be my son's car),and a 2001 Liquid Grey S2 (soon to be the wife's car). The grey is BY FAR the best colour. I ordered a silver SVT. Very hopefully SOON to be mine!! I'd love for SVT to offer a few more choices of paint and lose the black moulding.

Neon Green like on the Mitsubishi in Fast and the Furious.

Well I'll be . . .

I believe you, Peloton, despite the fact that my eyes are telling me otherwise. If it truly changes like that, that's friggin' amazing.

For those who haven't seen this 360 degree view of the Sonic Blue FSVT (if there even IS anyone like that)--check this out. And make sure to look on the INside as well--it lets you look ALL over the interior with your mouse, and you can even zoom in and out!

The focus you (Peloton) posted above looks just like the one I just posted, which is straight from SVT. I suppose that's partly why I believed that the bright blue one up above is real, whereas the other one--the darkish blue/purple one--is...well, I'm not too sure. But at any rate, thanks. Out.

I'll back P25 up on this one. I'm the one who took the pictures of the SVT on imagestation. Trust me, I didn't do any photoshoping of this car at all. The paint really does change color in the different types of light. It's amazing paint. When you look at the car in the sunlight it looks like the pict that P25 posted above. If you look directly at it, it looks blue but on any surface down the car it's got a purple tint. The picts I took were with the sky being totally overcast so it looks rather dark. And the vehicle in my picts are the closest to production that your going to get, but the paint hasn't changed from the beginning.
