If you're going through insurance they probably won't even need the police report given that it's a pretty simple rear ending. sucks though

 

That sucks they hit your Mini.

4 cop cars and an ambulance showed up and we were standing in the rain taking statements for over an hour.

But did they really need all of that? That barely looks like any damage. I got hit pretty hard before by a hit-and-run driver, and had one cop stop by, get my info, and leave in 20 minutes.

We waited in the rain for about 20 minutes for them to all arrive.The guy who hit me called the police but I have no idea what he told them so that was the reason for the 4 cop cars at once.The damage to my Mini is to the rear bumper,the bumper supports and also the muffler is bent.It was raining so I had to take quick pics with my cell phone.His Explorer had zero damage to it from what I could see.

 

Where's the damage?

 

Exactly what I was wondering. You're seriously losing it over an invisible scratch on a stock body panel? I've recieved more damage from rainstorms.

Isn't there a saying "This too shall pass"? Well, it will. But sometimes it doesn't seem like it's passing fast enough.

But yeah, it's been a rough month.

Sucks to get hit at all but just be thankful the Explorer wasn't going fastrer when it hit you or it would have crushed your Mini.

I was rear ended a few years ago in my SVT by a mid 90's Thunderbird and it wiped out the rear end and pushed me into the vehicle in front of me and took out the front as well.

Thankfully it was a T-bird and not a big tall SUV or my car probably would have been totalled and my daughter and I could have been seriously hurt.

Also thank you Jared for the damage/repair explanation so others know what could be involved.

His front bumper license plate support screws gouged 2 deep holes in my rear bumper cover not seen in the pic taken above the dislodged black screen just above the center muffler.

What I forgot to mention was yesterday morning where I live the building water was turned off for maintenance which wasn't posted until after the Board member left for work.I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when the water suddenly stopped.I guess it could have been worse if I was in the shower at the time and then no water.

Then a thunderstorm comes out of no where and BAM lost all of the power to the building for over an hour.So I am just sitting there with no electricity or water.The water and power eventually came back on.

Then all of the above happened in my original post.

I guess you missed his thread in OT where he wasted thousands of dollars trying to help his daughter out with a vehicle. Small problems to one person can be a bigger problem to someone else. Just because you don't think they are big doesn't mean they don't add up to be that way to him.

 

Negative attitude/why is this happening to me Mentality will only continue to draw bad things and bad energy towards you, including disease (ie: your health problems).

You might consider a mental shift towards the positive. Life isn't that bad, truly. People go through worse every single day for their whole lives and don't complain as much as I've seen you do. You're a sweet guy, and of course your FJ family is here for you, but it seems you let things get to you way too much.
