I've decided that I don't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars making an N/A Beast out of my spare escort engine. I'll probably get it back in good running condition so I have a good running engine ready to drop in when my current one gets blown into pieces. Then I'll put a crapload of nitrous on the engine that's in my escort now.
As far as getting my spare engine back up to snuff, all that happened was my rings went out on #4. All the way out, like into my exhaust and oil pan for the most part. She needs to be bored, honed, get some oversized pistons, and rings. I might end up replacing the valves and seats on #4 too, because they might have been damaged by chewing up pieces of piston ring. I'll know more when I pull the valves out.
Money is short right now, so I'm not doing much of anything to any of my cars for a while, although I have a front pump seal to replace on my van's transmission, I was planning on doing that sometime this month.
