In the myriad of posts I read through here I remember there being a handfull of people saying they are going to be doing buildups, be it turbo, nitrous, sc, na, whatever!

Who's doing it and what? Just curious.

But if the right deal comes along at the right time...I too will be a turbojunkie!! Right now Im saving for a set of nice and lite Rotas...but...if Im offered another T3 rebuilt/polished for 150...IM BUYING IT!!!

I've decided that I don't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars making an N/A Beast out of my spare escort engine. I'll probably get it back in good running condition so I have a good running engine ready to drop in when my current one gets blown into pieces. Then I'll put a crapload of nitrous on the engine that's in my escort now.

As far as getting my spare engine back up to snuff, all that happened was my rings went out on #4. All the way out, like into my exhaust and oil pan for the most part. She needs to be bored, honed, get some oversized pistons, and rings. I might end up replacing the valves and seats on #4 too, because they might have been damaged by chewing up pieces of piston ring. I'll know more when I pull the valves out.

Money is short right now, so I'm not doing much of anything to any of my cars for a while, although I have a front pump seal to replace on my van's transmission, I was planning on doing that sometime this month.

doing bodywork for project "ram-air". need to cut the vents in and make the scoop. Then fab the mounting plate for the front air box. initial testing shows the insulation allows only 11% heat thru. I'm hoping that with free flowing air, the number will be insignificant.

Probably me, since I've been working on my Escort since '97.



Maybe some of the other escort driving regulars can one-up me though.

Having the head ported and polished as we "speak". Already cammed, UDP'd, with headers and cat back. NGK's and 8mm wires already on. Slow as sheot, but oh well.

Project#2: When the tranny goes, it'll be time for a manual transplant. With that in mind, a turbo will soon follow.

Parts I've accumulated:
-The "i'll never get installed" gig/waterboy turbo "kit"

-spare focus head
-98 scort spi motor.

things I need:
-built auto tranny
-Time / shop assistants

The plan-
Have some work done locally on the focus head, then drop it on the scort bottom end. Attach the jinx'ed turbo kit and install into focus. Drive until something blows up, then reinstall stock (reliable) motor.

The backup plan (if nothing blows up)-
Increase boost.

Nothing really. I have been thinking about putting my gauge pod in that I had since May hehehe. I know I get crap from all my friends.

Nothing else exiting since I am poor.

My project is working on getting another car.

Sorry Guys when I get one it will either be a delsol dohc vtec or a integra gsr. It is harder for me to find a damn gsr than it is to find a type-r. Isn't that strange?

If I get another focus it will have to be a zetec or better.

I like those delsols too.

problem is, its getting harder and harder to find one that isnt all ragged out. If I were gonna buy a new car, I'd prally look for a an 87 porsche 944 turbo / 915. they go out real cheap and run like a bat outta hell.
