I work at the local Ford dealership.

 

I just got a call from my dealership in tampa. i am one of the first orders; still a go to start in march (i knew that already thanks to the jet) but no vin for me yet

 

I bet it only takes around a day or two to make a SVT Focus on an automated assembly line. Cool!

 

I guess I better call and find out. I put my order in on June 16 2001, so theoritically it is there too. This last 6 weeks or so of waiting is going to drive me nuts.

I work at the 50th ranked Ford dealer in the Nation. WE get just about any vehicle and info we want.... I haven't recieved my VIN.

Anybody remember what the post was called with the VIN breakdown on how to read all the info on a VIN??

I did a search and came up with nothing...

Ok well according to this VIN Breakdown i found through a search on Yahoo, The last 6 digits are the unit number. But if u look at the two VIN's provided the first 3 numbers,(in that last set of 6) 180, are pretty much the same. So my guess is that:

Lio Kaiser VIN# 3FAHP395X2R180398

He has order # 398?

and

miked_wz VIN# 3FAHP39582R180397

Should be # 397

The first digit, 3, is the code for the country where production takes place. 3 is the code for Mexico. The tenth digit, is the code for the year of production. The 90s were actually letters, but when 2000 hit, they started over with numbers. So for this year, it is 2. So, it seems like those numbers check out.

3 = Ford Motor Co. (Mexico)
F = Ford
A = Passenger car
H = Active Belts (all designated seating positions) plus second generation driver and passenger air bags plus driver and passenger side air bags
P = "Ford" Make
39 = Focus SVT

180397 = production sequence number

 

Just got my VIN today: 3FAHP395X2R180370.
The current status of the order is "Temporary Delay". I assume that's simply because production has not begun yet.

Sorry to offend anyone, however I am not sure if the info on your SVT is correct. I would bet it's not. THIS IS MY OPINION!

BTW when I came in and offered up info and I was questioned, I don't believe anyone stuck up for me like that! Just chill, opinions are like assholes....you know the rest.
