Hi,
I want to learn how to paint various body parts and then eventually maybe a car, strictly as a hobby. I have a spray gun. Can I use an all purpose one like the ones at Sears or Walmart? I would appreciate any suggestions on a good compressor for weekend warriors. Thanks.

I would make sure you have a decent spray gun. YNOT and I both have the Devilbiss FinishLine and both seem to like it. As for the compressor you need something that is going to keep up, the three horse I have now struggles and I am going to have to get a new one with prolly a 6hp motor and a huge tank. Make sure you get a decent respirator, if not you'll be painting high and screw crap up (I know from Experiece). But basically if you find a local paint supply store they should be able to get you all set up. Peace

hahaha ya def buy a good resperator. I do interiors all the time and i was gettin all messed up by the fumes and actually did mess up a few times.
