on j_latimer's behalf, yup that's the new k&n system that he got as a trial intake. as for ZX3er's third question, it beats the crap off my iceman/cool-flo setup. (he managed to get 14 hp at the wheels with it, and it makes a suweeeeeeeet sound too)

Whoa Jimel, good to see you supportin up in the F.J. madness! well this is not the "trial kit" that is on my car it is now the "Production model" which was one of the first one's in production! plus the sound is pretty awesome!!

hi-risk, you can run this intake on an auto-tranny setup. however, for those who are thinking of getting or have a focussport strut tower bar, sorry guys but it won't go. i've seen jordan's kit in person and there is no room for the STB.

(but nobody has ever said anything about attempting to make space did they...?)

 

What about Eibach or Progress bars?

It would kind of suck if an air intake ruled out bars entirely.

 

Well, as long as this K&N fits on a auto tranny Focus and is better then the current intake that I have now is a good one. I want this intake if it performs well too. From what I have read is that it's a great intake, so gimmie the pricing info, where can I order it. I want it!

I have a hard time believing that a short ram can pull 14hp... any charts to back this up?

hey guys i am sorry but i have been trying to get the proof of the numbers pulled off of my car, but i know that it is very very hard to believe the increase, but believe me i have no place to want to lie about the increase in power because it is just not my place. but the intake from what i was told should hover in and around the $300 range so from anywhere between 250 and 300 should be a good estimate. THANK YOU ATMZX3 for posting the picture. and i hope to get the dyno results soon but no promises since i have been trying to get those for quite a while from them.

Is that a different MAF on there too? That's a lot of money for a short ram intake.

This would go a long way toward explaining the price.

 

Man! What a disappointment.. It's exposed to the hot engine air.. and short rams do NOT work well in the Focus from all I have read here on the jet.. they suck in hot air and then bog the engine. I thought this thing was going to come in an enclosed box for the filter or something. Oh well.

 

Wow! That is what we have been waiting for. I almost fell off my seat in dissapointment when I saw it. Don't get me wrong though, it looks like a great short Ram set up, but we have all seen the problems with the short rams. It does look to have some sort of sheild though in front of the filter. I would love to see a dyno on this. I also can't see $300. Well, I am more than happy with my Ice-Man, so that is what I am sticking with.

Hey whats with that circular bulge right above the Throttle BOdy, does it swirl the air as it enters?? And also do you have any torque numbers?? HP is great, but like the AEM, HP shouldnt have to come at the sacrafice of torque!!!

There better be gremlins inside there working their magic. It doesn't *look* too promising. But I'll wait to find out how it works and how everyone likes it before I decide on this or the Iceman.

 

I wonder if the K&N tube matches up with the stock air box? Then you add a panel filter and an Iceman snorkle and have yourself the king of intakes.

 

SegaCide, you put over $500 dollars into an intake, you had better have one hella intake!
