I'm pretty sure they liked Fords, because they had a good V8.
Correct, Bonny and Clyde sent Henry Ford a letter complimenting him on his cars and how they preferred to steal them.

Ford were very popular at the time because parts were readily available and the cars were probably most reliable at the time.

However, it was a sign of opulence to drive or ride around in a Cadillac or Duesenberg. If you wanted to impress the social crowd a long black Caddie limo or rakish Deusie went a long way.

You are going to be looking for something like....

Cadillac Fleetwoods, Chrysler Imperials, Ford/Dodge/Chevy 2dr/4dr Sedan...

Many of the 'regular' cars available at the time were <company> <doors> Sedan. Sometimes available as a Deluxe. Best bet to find what you are looking for is to go to ebay motors and select the maker and sort by date and then go to the appropriate year range you are looking for.

check out www.cars-on-line.com they have a bunch of cool cars there, but you can also get an idea as to what the gangster-esque car would be. and get an idea as to where you want to spend your next 4-400k.
