dont know where to post this so here it goes

I am getting my roll cage in 2 weeks, ordered unpainted, and i was thinking of either just doing it black, simple style, or actually going through with polishing the whole damn thing, lol

Its mild steel is what i know, and i am hearing it has BEAUTIFULL welds which would look pretty nice if polished out.

My question is simply about polishing, i want to know ways to go about polishing mild steel tubing, whats the technique, materials, best methods, etc, results and stuff....

If i could do it with a good result, i may just try it, even if it takes a while, which it just may

Also, what are your thoughts on a polished cage?(real cage, not monkey cage)

4 point cage, with harness bar, neck bar and a diagonal crossbar, so there's quite some surface area

i was thinking about some good polishing compound that i use on other parts, but i havent done mild steel yet, i just use to to repolish polished pieces, i really dont know whats involved in turning regular ol' mild steel to a nice, shiny finish

AND NO i dont want to chrome dip it or something like that, i prefer the polished look, thats about as far as my bling bling factor goes

It'll rust in about a week though, so it will take a lot of work to keep it shiny.
You might need to clearcoat it or something.

Also, it might have a big ugly weld seam in all the pipes. Did they use ERW or DOM tubing?
