Ok everybody i need as much input as i can get if you guys want this to happen. I had a long talk with some representatives from Genera Inc. while i was at SEMA in LA last month. These guys make aftermarket taillights and sell them as TYC or Elegante.

From what i saw at SEMA they make some pretty high quality products. Much better than anything APC can even think of producing. When speaking to the rep he said that high quality is high on his list. Here are some samples:

Now to the heart of this thread. While speaking to Luke (their rep) he said they had a set of Focus taillights for the sedan and ZX3 coming out soon. But i asked if they were willing to try and make Focus R replica Taillights. He said as long as they have enough buyers they are willing to make anything consumers want. They are even willing to share prototype designs and sketches with us to see what we want before they're produced.

What they need from us is basically a Market Research study from our members to see if it would be worth it for them to try and make Focus R taillight replica's.

Now would you buy taillights like these if they were produced??

Please respond with a YES or a NO. If YES please also post how much you would be willing to pay for a set on your focus. If this is successfull we could build a great relationship with another good company and maybe get more products picked out by Focaljet members, maybe even these:

Yes I would buy them, but would the Focus R tailights be street legal?

They can make them street legal. I think i remember hearing the rep say that all their lights are street legal. It really isn't that hard to do if you've got smart designers.

Keep the Replies coming. If you know members that don't frequent Ext. Mods and you think they would want these PM them, Call them, DO SOMETHING but we need alot of people to respond!

Also this like anything that starts from scratch could take time so if u plan to "hold out" for these be prepared because the one thing we didn't talk about was timing from prototype to production.

a very enthusiastic YES...200-300 seems a fair price

all they'd have to do to make them DOT legal, is make the top one a reflector, the center the turn/brake, and the bottom the clear/smoked reverse light...

i just like the fact that they look flush with the body lines

Yes. $350-400.

Either or, I like both.
