You can't powder coat plastic. You can powder the rest of the rim but the center cap will be the same. You could paint the center cap but it just would look the same IMHO. If you need a place to get coating from let me know.

Nah, he's saying the center cap is plastic. The rest of the wheel can be powder coated. Wheels should fit perfect :thumbup:

 

you'd probably want a 205/45 size tire for them, or 205/40 if you don't mind real low profile.

i've done a few things on my car, but i really think the cheapest way to get it done is to buy a powder coat gun and an old used oven to bake your own parts.

find Eastwood automotive some time and check out their Hot-Coat system, its awesome and really simple to use.

I like both of those wheels. I have been pondering getting some different 17's so that I can put the 13inchers underneath.

I just don't like the aftermarket look.

They should bro...the rims stick out 2mm more than the SVT's. You'd actually clear better I would think.

 

Does that mean the SVT 5 spokes are 49mm? I was thinking I was going to need to go down to 45mm or so. I was figuring the 5 spokes were 47mm

 

It says the 5 spokes are 5.94"

and the 16 spoke is 5.81"

the way that I read that is the 5 spokes stick out farther. but I'm not sure.

 

The higher the # for the offset, the further in the wheel tucks :thumbup: The SVT rims are all 49mm IIRC. So the 47mm shouldn't tuck in as far as the 49mm offset.

I've heard that that can cause heating issues because the powder coating doesn't release heat the way the factory metal does. Should be fine for NA or minor bolt-ons though...
