Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection (Small Update)

Well everybody I'm officially back in Focus!! And i've gone completely crazy, i just couldn't stay away.

Many Focaljet Vets will recognize this old school 2000 Zx3 that RoRo used to own. It was basically one of the first highly modified Foci back in 2001. It even made it into Sport Compact Car in July 2001 (Phantom Menace)

Well after a very long and interesting history, its now in my possession to be resurrected.

Picking the Focus up from where it was being stored on the west coast of Florida. This was my first ever towing experience.

Ohhhh and yes i washed it..... I'm anal that way.

Now this will be a LOOOOONG term project. Final goal is to make a great little track toy which could go from RallyX to Autox to Track(2yrs+). Hopefully the powerplant (as you can see is missing) will be a 2.3 Duratec eventually pushing 200whp through an MTX75 with 4.06 gearing and Quaife.

Short Term Goals:

- Getting a front clip on the car and making it a nice rolling chassis.

- CF Hood is being donated to the project (its used with bad clearcoat, but perfect since it will eventually get painted and its lightweight).

- Currently sourcing a left side Fender through the WTB and FS forums (eventuall CF Fenders???).

- Currently Sourcing Headlights and Taillights through the WTB and FS Forums (wish i had money for ST170's right now).

- Hitting the local junkyards soon looking for a Front bumper (stock will be fine for now but eventually want a Euro Front or SVT. Also want a euro rear long term).

- Looking for a set of stocker Focus wheels for rolling chassis duty and RallyX.

- Currently working on getting an SVT Suspension on the car for RallyX in the future and rolling chassis work.

Once the car looks like a total car again it'll be back outside in a parking space so the MINI can go back home heheh. So much work to be done but i can't wait cause its going to be a blast and an incredible learning experience. Plus i do have the PhaseX guys not too far away

Any parts donations are greatly appreciated....

What the hell happened to that car anyways?

Or is it just a "RoRo car"?

The IS350 should look like that any day now

Thats a long story that i'm not sure i'm qualified to tell. If FOK feels up to it then maybe he can chime in and school some of the new people to the Jet or aren't insiders.

Co0L d34L!

Are those MM Spider IIs on the rear axle? Just curious; it was a wheel I first coRnsidered for my Focus...

Ahh... a track car; how delightful. A no-compromise track machine.

Someday...

I think thats what their called, if i remember they were an expensive ass wheel. Sadly these have been through the ringer, no rash at all but they're stained by some black liquid or something. Also there are only two hehe, But if someone needs two of those wheels for a Ford Focus, they're for Sale......

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

Upon closer inspection, they're not Mille Miglias at all; here's the Spider II (great looking wheel; sort of a blend between teh new and old school)

There're too many lug holes in the wheels on the car and the spokes are a lil' rounder; did Borbet make a wheel like this? Anyway, it doesn't matter, 'cause the Spider II is better looking for my tastes.

Nevermind... :p

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

The wheels are genuine and wear that same logo, they are Mille Miglias. I think they also have 4x100 built into them which is a good thing which will hopefully make getting rid of them a little easier, haha i should try getting them on the MINI for giggles.

I have pictures that i took from the Sport Compact Car photoshoot on my file server drive, but the OS drive took a crap so i can't access it right now. Hopefully i'll have it back up by tomorrow.

The story of how it got to its current state i said might be explained later in one of my earlier posts.

Jesus... That's going to be one expensive project!

I approve.
Now i know its a good project!

Actually i'm really shooting for it to be as simple as possible no incredible bells and whisles and alot of parts from the good ol For Sale forum. So i don't think it should be THAT expensive, especially since most of the work of clearing the chassis is done hehe. But it definitely won't be a $500 project.

Re: Project: RoRo Focus Resurrection

First off Joe congrats on getting another Focus!!
Although it is more like just a shell of a car that is left so resurrection is right!!
It looks like a huge project but time is on your side to do a track car correctly.Where are you going to be working on it since your garage seems rather small to do restoration work in?
Best of luck to you and keep us updated on your new project when you can.:)
