You have to allow for some pressure to be 'added' as you drive and your tires heat up. I've heard up to 8psi can come into play this way. When you go to add the air, just park it and wait a while, I usually wait 3 or 4 minutes before adding air. It helps if you choose an air station close to your house obviously.
I'd say to experiment with between 33psi and 35psi cold, and see what you like the best. I run 34psi myself and like it a lot.
I'm not sure what the 17s run at, but I'd just stay with the 32 to 35 range. Do not go with the MAXIMUM pressure listed on your sidewall! At that point, as air pressure builds from the heat due to rolling, you're running the risk of a blowout and a new tire
