Recommend me a 5 door hatch

Well I'm having my one year itch. Which would be me wanting a new car every 1 year or wanting to do something drastic to my current one. I currently drive an 03 ZX3 2.3L, and I've been thinking about getting something with 4 doors for many reasons. I do need a hatch or wagon because I play the drums and I have to transport the set around, so a sedan is out of the question. Here is my short list for a replacement, if I do decide to get something new.

03-04 ZX5
Pros: I'd be able to swap my svt wheels and other things, fairly cheap, ZX5 is a looker, no issues with my current Focus.
Cons: I'd have to find a MT 2.3L (which would be difficult) or SVT (which I can't afford) to be happy.

02-04 Protege5
Pros: One of the best looking 5 doors in my opinion, reliable from what I've read.
Cons: Hard to find, fairly pricey

Any other ones I should consider? Or should I just wait awhile until I can afford a Mazda3, Nissan Versa or hope Ford builds a Fiesta ST. :(

Buying used makes it much less of a loss, I do like the SX4, but that would be a few years down the line and by then I would be looking at a used Mazda3 or even a MS3 (Lord willing).

^^^LOL, I didn't say I actually end up changing cars every year, just that I get the itch to about every year. I wish I could pull that off. My last vehicle I did sell after a year, and I've owned my Focus for a little over a year now. I just should've gotten a manual ZX5. But I found a LG 2.3L hatch (even though it is an AT) and I couldn't pass it up.

An SVT ZX5 would fit the bill. I love mine, I know they can be had for around 10k, and they can be had with the Euro package which is sex(i would know :)
Not around here, an 03 or 04 are usually around 12,000-13,000. But I do think that would be the ideal choice for me right now.

The only car I would consider trading my Cougar in for would be a Mazda 3 hatch with the 2.3 and the "tiptronic" thing. Mazda 3 FTW.
