So far I have replaced:
-AC compressor
-AC lines
-Dryer
-Condenser

And still the AC doesnt work. The guys at the AC shop said that the compressor isnt working, and it is doing the same thing as the last compressor (before I replaced it)...

Any ideas? I really don't think that the new compressor is faulty.

thanks,
bartek

Re: Replaced compressor, hoses, condenser, and dryer, AC not wor

AC clutch? Is it a part of the compressor, or completely separate?

First thing I would check would be the low pressure cycle switch.

It's part of the A/C pulley. The pressure sensor wouldn't be a bad thing to check either, as mentioned above. I can't remember where it is on the Focus though. It'll be a metal chunk coming off the low pressure A/C line with some wires plugged into it.

it's on or near the accumulator. You can use a fused jumper wire to jump the switch and if the compressor comes on, thats your problem.

you take a wire and cut it in half. Get a fuse and solder or secure a wire end to each side of the fuse. you should now have a wire with a fuse in the middle. looks like: -----][-----

thats a fused jumper wire.

I went ahead and tested the low pressure cycle switch, and it seems the compressor is still not turning on. Which is very weird. before the ac lines ruptured everything worked fine, now the compressor is still not turning on.

what else can i check? any ideas?
