When I floor my zx3 (2002, ATX) it reaches over 6500 rpm consistently even in highway driving. I thought the rev limiter was supposed to keep it below 5000. Did Ford not put the rev limiter in all ECUs? Or am I wrong and the rev limiter kicks in at 6500 (in which case, why would anyone really need a chip unles running turbo?). Or is my rev limiter "broken" (not that I am complaining). I have no chip, no ecu mods at all (yet!). What do you think?

It's 6,500 on all ATX's. We get screwed. Also, since you have a 2002 you get screwed with a different throttle body too. 03' has and even newer TB that is crazy different.
