The term might have started out that way, but it has evolved into more. It's now an appropriate acronym.

So now the term RICE is even more appropriate.

And actually, if you take the term "rice" as derogatory towards Asians, then you could also find it derogatory towards Arkansans. Arkansas IS the largest producer of rice in the United Staes.

Quit your [censored] whining, ccc. If you look carefully, you'll notice that no one else seems to think its derogatory or racist (including Asians), and many ASIAN people use the term.

Save your breath...I had this argument with FJ members before and it proved useless.

I myself am an Asian and I'm also offended by some uses of the word "rice", "ricer", or any other term that has to do with the sacred wheat of Asians. I particually don't like it when a person sees a Honda with an exhaust and calls it rice (which it really isn't) then sees a Foci with an exhaust and calls it "cool". To me some people hold a double standard when it comes to the word "rice".

I aruged this but trust me it's hard to change minds. Just know what you know and believe what you believe. We're all car tuners here no matter if you like wings, V-8's, domestics, or import; it's all the same sport. At the end there are just three issues to car turner..

1. We try to be as fast as we can be..
2. We try to be as good looking as we can be..
3. Or else we just try to be all we can be (the real tuner rule)..

I know the my third rule can mean alot of things but that's the person's own personal ideal and issue, not someone else's. I don't like tuners who try to force their ideals on another because at the end it'll just led to a big arugment and two (or sometimes more) pissed off people. Weather you like displacement or technology, you must try to at least understand the other person's ponit before trying to make a ponit of your own. In other words, don't act rash because if you do you're just as bad at the other person.

I don't like to preach (even though that's what I want to go into) or lecture but hopefully you'll get something out of this. I know how you feel. I use to hate Mustang muscle heads(and still sorta do), domestic sport compact cars, and anything not having to do with the Japanese car scene but then I stopped. Ever since I learned alot more about cars and have many new friends I wouldn't of known with my old attitude (sounds corny but it's the truth).

Who cares what they say or think...You got your own mind right? You also got your own ideals right? Just let it go. I'm not saying talking smack like that is right but aruging it out isn't going to do no good either.

Trust me...you'll feel better after you learn to just live life for the important things not the trivial things...

I don't want to start a fight over this, but if people can't have humor about themselves and thier heritage, then the world is going to be a boring place because EVERYONE will get offended by ANYTHING that doesn't have to do with airline peanuts and funny observations about dogs (well, until American Airlines and the ASPCA start suing...)

I have a few Asian friends that do get pissed about it but I just tell them that they can say I honkeyed out my ride.

Well, if people wouldn't put ugly bodykits and nismo stickers on civics we wouldn't have to use the term rice. but, they do, so we do.

There's just as many ugly foci. I saw three today with a nasty looking kit on them. Two were covered in decals. They're riceboys....
