Same here! I have had Syncromax in mine for 30K miles now, and lovin every minute of it.

Royal Purple's website states there 10W-40 motor oil is equal to the Ford synthetic....thats what i run...

 

I'm a fan of Amsoil, I've been using this 0W-30 http://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?group=177 for my oil and this 5W-30 synchromesh fluid in my transaxle http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtf.aspx.
I love the milage I can get with this 0W, about 35-36 mpg.

 

hello everyone, thanks for the response,I did change the transmission fluid w/ RP Synchromax. Wow the difference in shifting is amazing, the old T fluid was brown, is that normal?

 

R/P is what I have in my MTX-75 as well.
But it doesn't make me a better shifter....:lol:

 

Is it ok to change the tranny fluid and replace it w/ RP Max Gear? I think the weight is 75w-90

The 75W-90 is a gear oil usually used in rear axle assemblies, you absolutely DO NOT want to use it in a transmission. Just as everyone before me stated, the regular RP Synchromax trans fluid will work great.

does the SVTF 6-Speed getrag use the same oil?


I will be looking into Amsoil products....though I used to run RP Synchromax in my last focus (mtx-75).

 

When I changed my tranny fluid in my '02 SVT they recommended the amsoil 0w-40 "european car formula" so I'd guess the Getrag uses lighter weight fluid.

 

The svt 6 speed probably uses something thinner like atx fluid

the mtx75 uses 75w-90 i called ford

when i put the rp Syncromax in mine it leaked! went to redline 75-90 no leaking anymore

 

GM syncromax is what Ive used in the past in my mustang..
