rubber \"nubs\" on SVT pedals....

Those damn things used to annoy the crap outta me....they would get caught in the tread on my sneakers/shoes whatever I happened to be wearing. So, after having enough of it, I took a single edge razor blade, and chopped them all off. I just ran the blade horizontally on the pedal and in one slow motion, cut them flush to the pedal. A brand new blade will yield the best results. Did this to the clutch and the brake pedals, left the gas pedal alone because the nubs don't bug me at all on that one. It looks good, and you can barely see the gas pedal anyway(plus they're smaller) so it doesn't look like a set of mismatched pedals.

exactly. to each his own, but they are there to serve a purpose. that you will see once you trying driving with wet soles. They get caught on your shows for a reason. that means they are working. be careful driving with wet soles.

Mine too. I hate those nubs when it's wet... they give no traction at all.
Re: rubber \"nubs\" on SVT pedals....

no problem here. And if you have any idea of the snow season and rain season we have had here in MD this past yr...it was record setting!
Re: rubber \"nubs\" on SVT pedals....

The nubs may not give much traction, but I think their gonna work better than a flat piece of aluminum

Re: rubber \"nubs\" on SVT pedals....

Why not try to roughen the surface on the nubs with a coarse grade sand paper. Seems drastic to cut off rather than texturise the surface.
Re: rubber \"nubs\" on SVT pedals....

"Nubs" catching in your footwear?

This is not a work truck.

Those who wear big-lugged clodhoppers probably weren't in the marketing demographic for this little SVT.

I don't think this is a car you take hiking either. If you are up in the hills, you should be spending all your time in the car carving up those curves.

Else, best to get yourself an SUV (did I just say that?)

I had that same problem. I wear New Balance shoes for driving, not exactly clodhoppers. The tread design is prone to getting caught by the nubs though. It doesn't happen too much, but it is annoying when it does happen.

bite me Getimpact
j/k
I've had bare alum. pedals in other cars I've owned and they've never been slippery in rain/snow conditions. It is much easier to drive now, less tiring. I dont have to lift my whole leg to let the clutch out anymore, the pedal just slides on my foot.
