#\'s on race header vs. shorty w/off road pipe?

Sorry if people have already covered this, but i did some searching and didn't really find the answers i was looking for. So here goes...

I currently have a jba shorty and was going to get the off road pipe but i've heard a lot of conflicting opinions on which is better. Now it's obvious that a race header should be better, but by how much? is 1-2 hp really worth all the hassel when it comes time for me to get smogged and i have to change back to the stock header and cat? However, if there is a more significant difference between the two that will make the project worthwhile i'll probably do it. I'd like #'s, if anyone has them, rather than opinions and speculations but all info is welcome. Thanks guys,

Yeah, I'd be interested in that info too. I have the FS shorty and the FC off road pipe, but was going to switch to the race header... Not too sure if it's going to be worth it. Might just stay w/ the shorty for possible turbo add-on sometime in the future.

From what I have read, the shorty/off road combo
is only a few less HP.
What I'm interested in is the low end gains
from the shorty/OR combo.
A race header will give you gains all the way around, so its all about your budget and inspections.
If you already have a shorty then get the OR pipe,
and 02 cheater, and deal with a couple less HP.
Just my .02

Re: #\'s on race header vs. shorty w/off road pipe?

i thought i might bump this up...

i was wondering if emissions are any concern to anyone here? i was going to buy a short header with offroad pipe and to be safe if they ever bring back emissions in michigan. i'd swap out my offroad pipe for my cat....that is unless FS or bosal makes a high flow cat one day which acts as a good offroad pipe but safe for the tree lovers.

Any new thoughts?

I think the site is broken.
