seats sedan vs ZX

591 Views 12 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  David Anderson
need some input from those of you that have been in a Sedan and ZX cars seats (especially the driver seat). Is there a significant difference in comfort and support between them? I can't stand my sedan seat. No lumbar and i get a back ache all the time. Just can't seem to get it in the right position.

with that said, if i swap the seats is it possible to swap covers??

thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

The seats are different. The ZX seats have much more side bolster and side back support. They might have a bit more lumbar as well.
I believe the covers would be different, but it would probably still work.
ZX3 seats are DEFINATLY better than the sedan seats. My sister-in-law has an SE and the seats are like sitting on a board compared to my ZX3.

If you are pondering the upgrade, it will be the most comfortable mod you spend your money on.
I don't know.... I love my ST leathers.....
ST seats and seats from any ZX5 would also be a good bet; they're based on the ZX3 style front seat, only lacking the lever to flip the seat forward.

My first thought is about lumbar, you may have a wheel on the inside edge of the top half of the driverseat to adjust lumbar support.

I say may because your sig says '04 ZTS. I have it on my '02 ZTS but it may have been decontented.

As for the side bolstering, the hatch seats are better.

One thing to beware of though, ZX5 premiums (at least in '04) have the sedan seats in them. Thats why I bought the mid range (comfort) it has the zx3 style seats.

Um i dont think you can switch out the st seats for svt seats since the airbags are different.Doesnt the 05 have the smart airbags and the 04 and down didnt? I thought the 04's had the switch on the dash and the 05 have the computerized set-up.
