is there any one out there whit a short shifter????
I just hack-sawed it off and replaced with an aftermarket knob that uses 3 allen screws.... I plan on getting one in the future, but back to the topic.

Any short throw shifter (Steeda, b&m, Focus-central, roush) that is made for 2002.5 and later focus will work with the 2005...
Note to cheep knobs with set screws. They SUCK! Thats what I had but the screws would dig into the metal and losten them selfs even with The Strongest Locktight. get something that Will thread on. Or JB Weld it on. Thats why I got a new shifter and a knob that screws on. Just my 2 cents though
Hacksawing the shifter is actually only giving you a "shortened" shifter, not a short-throw shifter like the Steeda.
I have one with a set screw...and I'm not having any problems at all...and this is on an 05 by the way.
05 shifter didnt change one for a 2002.5-2004 wil work fine, steeda comes recomended.
I have a B&M shifter and it works great. I hear it is shorter than the steeda also...if you like that...which i do, perfect height!

When I had my '00 I paid the money for a B&M and I had no complaints.

I recently got an '05 and got an ebay special, I'm just has happy with it, and I slam gears once in a while.
I was tempted to try the eBay special, but i don't wanna have to buy a new one if it breaks. I'd get the Steeda Tri-Ax; it's also highly recommended.

If you prefer a bit shorter, B&M is the way to go.

Both are around the $150-180 range.
