I am currently running a JBA shorty and random tech cat. What advanatages would i get from running a race header.

So how much more power would a race header give me 2-3 hp over my current setup?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">similar shape, but far lower numbers, you have to remember, exhasut gasses are leaving the head and slamming together into a cat after a few short inches on a shorty header, that's a big no-no for power. I would assume a loss of close to 10 lb-ft between the svt and shorty.Originally posted by blueovalbaboon:
yo fisch, what WOULD that torque curve (which looks huge on low rpm, me like)look like with a high-flow/shorty?

The Random Tech was dyno tested a while ago by someone with basic mods and he got 7.9 hp and 8.2 lb-ft. of torque. The FocusSport street header should add a few to that. That makes it not so far off from the posted dyno. Sure, it won't quite be the same, but it's worth it to me to take the responsible route and have the cat in place (and a quieter exhaust).Originally posted by Fisch:
