I'm sure it has something to do with insurance. Anyone that has any business going that fast can afford to chip the speed limiter and Chevy is passed on any responsiblity.
Compared to those trucks they are slow - but not in 6" of snow. Chevy has openly admitted that they won't have the fastest or highest hp SS vehicles - but that they will instead be a good combination of power, comfort and style. I for one would definitely drive an SS, when I bought my Avy the SS was right up on the list, but they were new and GM wouldn't allow Employee Purchase on them (back when Employees were the only ones getting the discount.) I love my Avalanche - but I've always got my eyes open for an SS.Those trucks are SLOW. If they were aiming at going after the next-gen Lightning and the SRT-10 truck they really missed the mark.
It has to do with liability and tires.I'm sure it has something to do with insurance. Anyone that has any business going that fast can afford to chip the speed limiter and Chevy is passed on any responsiblity.
the 2007 6.0L is said to be 400hp/400tq.The SS can now be had in RWD trim as of 2005. Ask GM about why they started out as 495HP in 1998, then 395HP in 2000, and settled on 347HP when production finally starts??? I'd like to see them put the 395HP now going into the Trailblazer SS into the pickup as well.
