Has anyone ever spent the night in their Focus (ZX3)??

I'm going to the Florida-Georgia football game next weekend and all the hotels are filled, so I thought I might just crash in my car.

There's a G2G the next day and I'm going to be installing my body kit and welding some exhaust stuff, so a good night sleep is pretty important

BTW - I'm 6'4"

I spent two nights in it on my way both to and from So Cal in April, and have camped in it at least a dozen times. I also used to nap in it while on duty as a security guard. Works pretty well.

I'm 6 feet or so and I've spent probably 5 nights in my car so far. When you fold the rear seat forward there's still a bump that's pretty annoying. Also, the prefered way for me to sleep is with my head at the back of the car so I can stretch my feet over the bottom seat cushion if I wish and stretch out. However, if you're on a level surface this puts your head several inches lower than your feet and that's pretty annoying. The prefered method I've found: Two sleeping bags, one to sleep in, one to sleep on, it really smooths out the bump. Park on a slope (slight) with nose of the car lower than the rear. If you have a ZX3, keep the parcel shelf in, it is a great barrier to annoying street lights at rest areas or parking lots and lets you get a much better quality sleep.
If you have to sleep in the back seat it works ok, but it's a bit cramped. Better than that if you can't fold the rear seat down for some reason it to lean the passenger seat all the way back and cram some stuff into the foot well so that your feet are closer to the level of the rest of your body, it makes it much much more comfortable.
Most important, and I can't stress this enough, brush your teeth before you go to bed. You're in a limited space and if you go to bed with really rotten breath your whole car will smell like that in the morning. Not pleasant. In my opinion, the focus is a great car to sleep in and I've been able to get 7-9 hours of quality sleep on several occasions. Good luck!

I did last summer I left Montreal for home about a 6 hour drive at just after 1am. I had been at a show for the weekend and hadn't slept since Friday morning. Just after 3am I started to get really tired and found my head dropping a few times. I aired on the side of caution and decided to pull off rather than fall asleep at the wheel. I got 2 hours sleep waking up to a small group of people standing around looking at the car.

I am 6'4" and awhile ago we went camping and we set up camp at night, with no flashlights, so my bag ended up on a buncha roots. Midway through the night I got out and walked back to my car and went to sleep. Very comfortable

The Funniest part was that I don't remember getting up. I fell asleep in the tent and woke up in the focus

Damn theres a lot of tall guys drivin foci. I'm 6'4" as well. Iv'e never slept in my focus all night, iv'e rested in the passenger seat and its awkward. Iv'e always wanted to try folding the rear seats down and sleeping, but never had the occasion.

I'm selling the focus soon and getting a truck,

sleeping in the bed with a nice mat would be sweet.

I'm 6'2" and have slept in my ZX3 on at least 10 occassions. What works best for me is to put the front seats all the way forward and fold out the bottom of the back seat. Then the backs fold down flat. Put a sleeping bag and pillow down and you're fine. You have to curl up a little, but it doesn't bother me.

The damn seats in the SVT don't fold flat cause of the leather bolsters in the side and bottom of the seat. But i think I wouldn't mind curling up in the back seat if the need arised. I'll actually have to do it when I drive home to CT this summer since I'm not the best at lasting too long while on the road.

if there is a g2g the next day, i am sure there is someone that can put you up for a night man.

Brent
The football game is in Jacksonville and the G2G is outside of Orlando. And I won't be able to drive after the game because I will be, well, GONE. I figured I would sleep it off and drive to it in the morning

Short my ass. I'm 5'7".

Regardless, I have never slept in my Focus. Gotten lucky a few times in the back seat, though, and there is suprisingly enough room for that. A good hint I found is to fold down your back seat, and lay down in the trunk (for sleeping purposes
Image
). If it's enough room for two people, it should be enough for one.

I am 6 foot tall and 270( big guy) the best method I have found was to lay the rear seat down and sleep with your head in the trunk. O and I have a zts witch has a little more room in the trunk than the zx3. I have never slept in my car sober( always to drunk to drive home) so I dont know if I had a good night sleep or if it was because I just flat past out
Image
. That is what I have found to be the most comfertable and gives you the most room.
