I have an 02 svt focus and when i got into my car the other day and tried to put it into reverse it wouldn't work and there was a lot of shifter slop. So i opened the hood to adjust the shifter cable by pushing in the orange clip and to my surprise there was no orange piece with the spring so i looked underneath the car and there it was. The clip that holds in the orange piece had snapped, letting the orange piece go flying thus letting all the tension go in the cable.

Anyway, I went to the parts man at the dealership i work at and he said you cant get just that plastic adjuster and orange piece. You have to get the whole shifter cable assembly which is 100 dollars :(

I was wondering if anyone knows where i could get one from or if anyone has any extras lying around.

This is not my picture but this is what broke. I need the orange thing and the plastic piece that has the socket on the end that connects to the gear shifter on the back of the transmission that the orange thing goes into

I dunno if you can get just that piece, but I can tell you Steve shipped me a new pair of cables and it was about $100, so if the price is the same at your dealership, that'll be your best bet.

I've heard people say that but I'm not sure where it comes from as I was able to buy just that bushing from my local dealership less than a year a go. Hopefully nothing has changed because that little guy wears out.
