So i got this letter from Geico today, and called for my free quote.

full coverage, comprehensive plus full glass, $500 deductable, 5k medical, 100k 300k property and $25/day rental

$1240 for 6 months. that's $2480 a year.

With Amica now i have $1860 a year... and the guy at Geico was impressed with my current rate.
(edit: that's $155.25 a month)

I was wondering, what do the other Jetters have?

my parents paid for my sister's car insurance while she was in college, so they're doing the same for me. i only have 1 year left though, and i have no idea what my parents are actually paying for me cuz they have 4 cars on the policy.

$138/month for my '98 Durango 4x4 and '02 SVTF, plus like $15k of renters insurance or something like that. I also got free GAP insurance since I financed the Focus through my insurance company (@3.9% even!). Oh yeah, 28 with clean record (should be clean now).

USAA absolutely rocks as an insurance/finance company if you can get them.

$50,000 collision/ medical

Being 18, with a car in your own name, in the New York metro area sucks!

Me and my Bro pay $361 amonth for 3 drivers an 01 ZX3 and an 02 SVTF full coverage and all the extras. For living in the 909 and having an 80 mile round trip to work that is actually a good rate. Oh and I have 2 points on my record.

I have a feeling all who say full coverage, don't really know how auto insurance works, there are different dollar values placed on just about everything you can choose for full coverage.

I have the same coverage on my '02 SVTF and my '03 Ranger FX4 II through USAA CIC (non-service member, 28, male, single, no speeding tickets since 2000
and I live in Maine):

Bod. Inj. 100K/300K
Property Damage 100K
Medical Pay. 10K
Extended Benefits:
Wage Earner Disa. 2K for 30 days
Essential Svcs Disa. $45 Week
Uninsured 100K/300K

Deductibles: Comp. 500, Coll. 500
Increased Rental Reimb
Towing and Labor

Both vehichles driven 15K a year

Yeah, I'm overinsured, but if I kill or hurt someone I want them or their families to get all the money they can.

The SVTF is $1108.72 a year and the Ranger is $677.72 a year, which is pretty ironic because the ranger's MSRP is 8K more than the SVTF.

Included in those prices I supposedly get discounts for:

SVTF:
Anti-theft -$4.68
Fewer operators than vehicles -$20.43
Multi-car discount $-38.17
Passive Restraint $-7.35

Ranger:
Anti-theft -$4.64
Fewer operators than vehichles -$11.71
Multi-car discount -$66.14
Pasive Restraint -$3.82
Vehichle Injury Rating Discount -$3.82

GEICO wanted 6K a year for the same coverage, but would only cover aftermarket items up to a total of 3K

Progressive wanted 7.5K a year for the same coverage.

All-State and just about every other insurance company said, we can't compete with USAA.

My rates went up this year substantially, last year I was living in rural Maine and I payed 1300 a year for both vehichles, but my collision ded. was 1K. I was told the rates went up because the manufacturer increased the risk rating on my car and the base rate in Maine went up for everyone
