I sat in one at the autoshow. They're more like explorer sized, but still. Ugly imo; but if it is what it takes for porsche to survive then so be it. I'm sure some people will buy them.

Yeah, I saw one a couple weeks ago, on the road. Ugly as hell. The front end looks like they took a 911, and made it eat until it almost burst.

I saw a black one on the road last week and at first I didn't know what to think of it.The local Porsche dealer has them in stock now. From what I have read in the car mags the vehicle is a beast and in need of a major diet.I have yet to see its cousin the VW Toureg on the road but I am sure the dealers will sell whatever allotment they get though.

SUV = Good idea, bad rep, dangerous if you cant drive, and since 99% of the people who own them cant drive worth a f***, very dangerous.

Fast SUV = Bad idea, designers should be shot. Very dangerous if you cant drive, deadly if you cant drive worth a f***.

I have an amazing story also. Me and a friend went to the Mitsu dealer to look at the Evo's and just happened to roam on over to the Jag/Benz/Porsche side when were were done. We asked if they had a Cayenne's n and they responded with two. One n the back and one turbo in a heated garage sold. The sales guy said "just go thru those doors by the water machine and it's n there"

Me and my friend were like

We went into the garage and there was a black Evo for 31k (not sold) and a sold pretty pretty blue Cayenne with silver trim, and a BEUATIFUL brown interior. I know this is hard to believe but I "put this on my moms" that the keys were sitting n the middle console!!!!! All the windows were rolled down and when I took the keys out of the vehicle the lights DIMMED on, not just came on all the sudden but they DIMMED. It was so damn neat. Same thing happened when I put them back n the car and it read on the dash that the keys had entered the vehicle.

This is the part that really gets me tho. U get a bottle of Porsche Cayenne pepper sauce (it was also sitting on the center console)!!!!!!

TOTALLY SWEET!!!!

p.s. Any1 know why they keep sold vehicles n heated garages? It was probably about 60 out that day too, inside the garage it was probably 100 or higher.

well, i work at a porsche dealership and i have to say I'm not really looking forward to all of them coming in because I have to clean the darn things. Lets just say that although its an SUV, its the only one I'D ever own. The turbo produces 450HP from a 4.5L twin turbo V8. And oh the factory 20in wheels and height ajustments are cool. You can't beat and SUV that goes 0-60 in the low 5 sec range... thats amazing!!!!!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Its in a garage why not keep the keys in it? almost EVERY dealer I know of dose this.

As for the lights you should look at Mercedes they do this as well. They have "smart keys" u never put a key in a hole, or even press a button on the key fob, all you do is have the key in you pocket. By pulling on a door handle with the key on you the door unlocks, the same with the trunk. When in the car to start the car u press a button on the shifter. When you get out of the car with you key the doors lock. If you try and leave the car without the key, and try to lock the doors, the car wont let you, and it will blink "keys in car" on the LCD screen in the dash. Really cool stuff. Kinda makes the foci keys look ancient, heck even the Civic has laser cut keys now!

how can you argue with 450 horsepower (turbo version)?? its practically like having a dodge viper with the seating capacity of an explorer and storage space of one!!! i would take this over just about any SUV hands down! but then again it does cost MORE than a dodge viper so...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">See that's the problem with one of these because anyone rich enough to buy this, has enough money to have more than 1 car. They are also too dam rich to even considering "moving" something themselves, have ONE kid, and would never think of going off roading. So they have NO use for an SUV, its just a status symbol. It may HAVE 450hp, but it will NEVER be driven like it has 450 hp (unless the kids barrow it wile the parents are on holiday in England)

As for a viper, What! As if they could be caught dead in something American! Its to improper, and a blatant sign of being new money. We cant have that now! Everyone knows the only good cars are the German engineered ones!

Its an impressive vehicle on its technical merits. However, it looks like someone grafted a Boxster front end onto a Hyundai Santa Fe rear. I sat in one at the Tulsa Auto Show and was not impressed with the lack of room in a vehicle the size of an Explorer. My Focus has more room in the front and rear seats than the Porsche.

For the money I would much rather have the FX45.
