SOLO2 Nat\'ls Entry List/Schedule

http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/scca-solo2nats-2003/frmEntryList.Show?psevent_id=447

No Foci entered in STS or FSP...

I like Lorin's chances in HS...

GS looks tough for the handful of SVT guys. I noticed a "ringer"--Rick Ruth, usually one of the top 5 CP guys, is in a Celica GT. Another, Per Schroeder (associate editor at GRM), a former HS national champ, IIRC, is also in a Celica.

Speaking of CP, a close friend of mine, Darrell Padberg has a real good shot at taking it all--as does his wife DeeDee in CPL. Their Mustang is a rocket!

One of my former "students", Jeff Cashmore, is a real threat to win ES--MR2. He is very, very good.

Anyone else here know anybody there with a good "shot", Focus or not???

Dave Hester, who posts here quite often is the real ringer! Go Dave!

STX will be won by the first entrant, my friend Tom Hoppe. Tom is crazy fast.

From my region there is last years HS champ, Matt Murray in a BMW 318, but a couple of great drivers from my region switched to HS this year. Chang Ho Kim and co-driver Cliff Strout, in a Honda CRX. Cliff is not on the entry list, but I'm pretty sure he is going.
Both of them beat Matt at different events this year. They are hoping for a 1,2,3 in HS.

Good luck to Lorin and the other Foci's

Well, you've proably seen my thread about my Service Director John Brown's chances in DP. He just took the Pro Solo National Championship, beating the guy who's slated to win DP.
Robert Carpenter was G Stock Champ 2 years ago, 2nd last year, and a Definite contender this year.
Mark Pilson, running AS, is usually an FSP Scirocco guy...we'll see how he does.
Brian Flanagan, in STS, is from down the road in Chattanooga, and looks to be a contender.
Doug Allen, STS, is a former Nemesis of mine who is incredible. I've beaten him twice ever, but he's come a long way since then, and has one of the most capable STS cars I've ever seen.
Brent Eddy, DP, is a Service Mgr under John Brown, and co-drives the MR2.
There are other locals running, but the above are all Trophy-Contenders.
We've got Quite a Strong Region here in East TN.

Joe Goeke from here on the West Coast is a pretty darn good driver (GS Ausi A4) I've read that he is catching a ride in an East Coast Celica GT for nationals. He might be woth watching.

Watch for Ron Bauer to take the DS win in his BMW 330.

Brain Preibe is probably the favorite in GS right now since he is the defending champion.

If that is the same Escort that I am thinking of, Will Kalman should be right up on top with the two very fast civics in STS.
