So yeah, this happened. Worked a deal with a friend and this is going to be my sons first car. It's a 2000 ZX3 with a full RS Collections body kit and an Aerocharger turbo, SVT Brakes, Quaife LSD, Focus Central throttle body, Focus Central ultra short short throw and other goodies I can't think of. Not shown are the 16" Motegi Track Lites that came with it or the RS Collections rear spoiler which needs to be reinstalled.

In it's prime the car made 187whp @ 5400rpm and 214wtq @ 3400rpm on 9.5 psi.

We're trying to contact the original owner to get some more details but I have to believe this has to be one of the oldest continuously boosted Mk1s in North America. So without further ado, here it is.

Needs some TLC as it's had a bit of a rough life but it's all there and it all still works, Seems to have a bit of a boost leak or something but it still pulls pretty hard to about 6000 or so.

Used to look like this,

Nice find Steve! Hope your son doesn't get into too much trouble with it. ;)
Would like to see some more pictures of the Aerocharger setup, when you get the chance.

Have to get underneath for more Turbo pics, I do hope he can control his right foot or else the Turbo will have to go into storage for a while.

I love the shift um... Button! Ultra short, no doubt! Slightly cool dad!

Euro grille is in the garage, just needs the trim painted :) and as much as I do like this car I still much prefer my SVT. :)

woah. hes so lucky! really cool find, you think its the only running aerocharged car left?
Hard to say really, I know at least one other Aerocharged Focus was in Minnesota but I haven't seen it in years.

Edited the first post but in it's prime the car made 187whp @ 5400rpm and 214wtq @ 3400rpm at 9.5 psi.

And looked like this,

Oh, that is pretty nifty, Steve! Your kid is going to have a good time with that one. I'm almost certain I've seen pics of this car before...are any of the previous owners members here?

This car was built a LONG time ago, the original owner (Doughboy) sold it to the guy we got it from (Zurno) back in 2005, there was a period that it sat for a year or two after the old built engine went south due to an oiling issue.

It's now on a stock Zetec and as long as it's coolish outside it still rips right to 7000rpm and pulls really well, Tends to get heat soak though so when it's hot out it doesn't like to pull past 6000. It is a lot of fun but it's also really uncivilized with a rock hard ride, no A/C and the left rear rubs over almost any bumps especially if you hit the bump when turning right.

We'll make it right again, a little at a time, can't wait to get these generic wheels off and get the Motegis on the car.

Quick update, my son has been busy cleaning up the car and making things right and we just swapped out the turbo for one that actually works right. :) Car now makes about 10psi and revs right to 7000, only issue is I can't seem to get a clean 1-2 shift out of it after a WOT 1st gear pull.

Quick shot my son took, it's sitting on the Motegi Track-Lites now.

The "new" turbo on the left,

I'll see about some decent shots of the car as it sits now in the next day or two.

Update, got the hood refinished, new(used) seats etc.

Thinking of going bronze with the wheels, what do you think?

Also, maybe give it some new light tint, whatever is on there now has a 'mirror' vibe from some angles and it ages the car.

The breather filter has already been removed and the stock hose reinstalled going to the airbox.

We'll see what direction he goes with the wheels, they'll get rattlecanned for now so it's easily changed, powder coating can come later once he falls in love with a color.

It does have mirror tint, it's still in good shape so I'm pushing him towards keeping it for now since he has to pay his own car insurance. He's going to have to choose is expenditures wisely.

Not sure which PCV is in it now, one more thing to add to the list of things to check and yes that's my old SVT plate frame on the back.

Almost forgot, I also have this waiting in the wings. Need to figure out how it's going to work out though because it's a lot larger than the one in the car now and we have to get brackets made up and welded on this one.

I'm available for adoption Steve! I think bronze for the rims too.

Sent via poles, wires and telegraph 2.

You mean the wheels in the first pictures I posted of the blue car? I kind of like the way those looked but they're badly bent and driving on the freeway was torture for the car and passengers.

This little Aerocharger turbo is a pretty cool setup, won't set any records but it's a lot of fun to drive.
