I'm looking to do a tune up here pretty soon. So I was wondering, what's the best wire/plug set up I can do for my zx3? Any good recommendations? Thanks in advance!
Word, I have motocraft copper plugs and the original 75k mile coil and wires. Andy had the msd wires and coil and he had to go back to stock to make the power he made (613whp).On a stock engine , any plug recommended for the Zetec. For any engine that is modified. Go with the Copper Plugs. You won`t see any high horse power engine builders using platinum or iridium.

The newer elements used in plugs are for longevity, not performance. They'd have you believe they increase performance but in reality, they decrease performance as a trade off for longevity. The most conductive element used in plugs today is STILL good old copper. But, guess what? Copper wears out fastest of all elements offered today. Platinum lasts longer but at the expense of performance. Platinum is less conductive than copper which will yield less spark, all other things being equal. Iridium is somewhat more conductive than Platinum, not as conductive as copper, but lasts longer than copper.
And as far as wires go, Check the Forced Induction section. There are guy`s making 400 - 600 + hp on stock wires and coils , Ford got the ignition right.
