Starting

Ok, so i was starting my car last night and it wouldnt go, i turned the key back, took my foot off the clutch and put it back on and it started fine. Did it again tonite coming form work, and same thing happened. I pulled into my driveway shut off the car and try to tunr it back on, nothing agian, and then i take my foot off the clutch and try again and now it works, Can someone help me or clue me into whats up. its a 2000 zx3 if u need to know
