If you replace...and u get pulled over...waht will that matter?

You just won't have airbags...and in that case, put a cage in and harnesses and wear a helmet.

You could get it restitched though, I can't imagine its that hard, I've seen a few restitched or even painted. I bet, if you take it to a shoe repair shop that does leather work, they can restitch it with whatever color leather you want...or you could get some MOMO material, the super grip stuff and restitch it with that.
i just don't want to waste the $$ replacing the steering wheel only to get pulled over and have to take it out. i was wondering if paint would actually take to the leather part of the steering wheel. i know i could paint the other parts. if anyone has tried this, please let me know. thanks
I think elderfeces replaced his steering wheel, posted it up, w/pics. It looked like a pita to me, bit I'm not as mechanically inclined as the others. maybe this info can help you...

isn't he the one who put the rs steering wheel in his car?

rachel, all you would have to do is take off the leather, dye it, then restitch it.

any ideas on where i would get leather dye?
first place i would try would be a fabric or upholstery store.
yes, i swapped my svt wheel for the RS wheel, and i love it. it was a pita, but worth every ounce of sweat. here the link.
