I have a 01 focus with the stock stereo. I am wondering what is the COMP and AVC found on the MENU??? What do they do or what are they for??? Why the AVC has a +5 power or whatever it is?

AVC = Automatic Volume Control

- As the car goes faster, the radio gets louder. As the car goes slower, the radio gets quieter. It "keeps" whatever perceived volume you want. It works most of the times...but some have found it to be buggy.

COMP = Compile (I think)

- It's like a sound compiler that helps even out songs...mainly for burned CD's I've found. Sometimes, the tracks you burn onto a CD might be louder/quieter than the track next to it. So, it helps to "even out" the songs.

Close. COMP means Compander, or Compressor/Expander and its function is like you say. It amplifies (expands) quiet parts of the song and quiets (compresses) loud parts.
Wow. I didnt knew I had that in my stereo. Thanks a lot guys!!
