I've got my stock intake taken apart, but the box that the filter is in seems to be sealed. Would you replace the whole box or does it come apart to take the filter out???

A Ford technician would replace the entire box, or at least service it somehow. Its a non-user serviceable component.

well that takes care of that. I have no time for non-user servicable items, out with the old in with the new.
I was just asking cause it was brought up by the guy building my intake.

It would probably be much easier if you bought a focus sport or a marcy intake. They both are professionally made and fully tested. If the person building me an intake asked if I wanted to use the stock filter instead of a hi flo filter I would be a little worried about his knowledge.

I would be too, but that's not the case. I was just asking since we had it torn apart and we were looking at everything that was taken out. I trust the person doing the work and the price is great, that on top of them being local had me sold.

Yes, I don't want to throw the CEL. the peice that has the MAF is staying the rest is gone. I have a 90 degree bend from the TB to the stock peice. I would love to have gotten a FS or Marcy one but money is tight right now so I had to find another way to do this mod.
