I did a quick search but didnt find anything. i think I know the answer but need to make sure.

For the Duratech engines who is over the design. Mazda or Ford. I read somewhere that mazda was in charge for the small Duratech engines and i just wanted to know whos base design it was.

I'm pretty sure that in the 6, its a Ford block, and a Mazda head (and other goodies)

Mazda owns the engine.

they designed it, and ford builds it under licence. or something like a licence.

Yah but since Ford is a substantial owner of Mazda, doesn't that kinda become pointless?

Fords ~25% of mazda.

It not like jaguar sor volvo. Mazda carries it's own debt, and has it's own stock.

it was largely an accounting decision. Who could afford the initial outlay? Development costs and all that? Mazda or Ford? Ford's in the middle of a turnaround/ shooting itself in the foot quality wise, so mazda shouldered the burden as it will appear at the end of the fiscal year.

FOrd's trying to reduce spending, so they shifted the costs to Mazda's balance sheets.
