Okay... Here's the stupid question. How the heck do you replace that bulb? I've removed the thumb screw from the inside and the phillips screw on the outside. But the assembly remains firmly attached to the body. Am I missing a fastener somewhere? I know it can't be that difficult but the owner's manual doesn't give any info beyond what I've done and neither does a Haynes manual. Help.

You just have to tug gently, but firmly. The edge of the taillight, the black rubber stuff is probally just stuck in between the glass. This happens to every Focus I have ever pulled the taillights for the first time. Once you get it loose & out you souldnt have this problem again.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Thanks for the help. I thought that might be the case but I didn't want to take the chance first if someone knew any tips. Thanks again and I'll be giving it another shot shortly.
