Summer mods

ok, with summer coming, I'm wanting to add some stuff to my 2005 Black Focus ST Sedan and need some help finding some retailers for what I want since it's hard finding stuff for the Sedan in the 05-07 range. I live in Canada so having a retailer in Canada is a bonus but the U.S is ok too, would just like to avoid having to pay broker fee's etc.

Here is what I'm looking for

Body Kit- I've only seen the F2 kit and Pro-DTM but there doesn't seem to be a rear bumper listed on the extremedimensions page even though I do love the rest of the kit.

Headlights- I've seen some black ones on Ebay that I really love and would go great with my black car. If anyone has pics of black ones on their black car, I'd love to see them

Taillights- Is there any nice ones out there?

Wheels and Tires- Lots of great U.S sites. any cdn ones out there?

Spoilers- The wife loves the Vader style but I told her it would look too big, she wants something that stands out. Is there anything out there that she would love without making my car look like a shopping cart?

Lowering Kit- How low can I go and still keep ride comfort, I don't want it riding like a rock since roads up here are not the greatest.

Hood- Again, can't seem to find any good ones for the '05 Sedan, I've seen really sweet ones for hatches though.

Any help on finding stuff for my Sedan is appreciated. Hopefully we can help out other Sedan owners at finding stuff as well :) Any other suggestions for mods that I'm missing is great too

Here is my car

Alright! Time to get crackalackin on this one!

1. Body Kits:

I made a thread for the 05's just a few weeks ago that listed every kit for the 05+. I asked for it to be stickied for this reason..but no one hears my cries apparently...so here's the thread:

http://forums.focaljet.com/exterior-modifications/571083-body-kits.html

this thread will also help you:

2. Headlights:

No one really makes headlamps for your car except the Ebay projectors...

Most people open the headlamps and paint the insides themselves. It's a bit cheaper than buying new ones....

3. Taillights:

Niteshade will do wonders for you!

4. Wheels and Tires:

5. Spoilers:

The OEM Ford Street Appearance Package wing would look great on that car. They are expensive as hell from Ford, but some have been popping up on Ebay for around 200.00

6. Lowering Kit:

Hit up the Suspension forum on here! I personally have the Steeda Springs with KYB AGX struts, but you'll find that everyone has their own opinion of what suspension to go with.

7. Hood:

Checked out those body kit threads, all hatch backs though. Might be one Sedan in there lol. I'll have to check my local laws about having shades over the tail lights, I know you can't have them on headlights on night here. I personally liked the SAP spoiler too, but the wife doesn't like it for some reason. I'm liking the Invader hood on that Hood site you gave me though, at least with carbon fiber, it will look nice on my black car and I won't have to pay to have it painted or anything.

This is the spoiler she really likes but I told her it might not look right on our Focus, what do you think?

Not to be mean to your wife but, that is one of the uglist spoliers I have seen. I would get the SAP one. She may not like it at first, but I think once it's on the car she will change her mind. And no it will not look good on a focus, or on any car for that matter.

I'm sure your wife is a good person.....she just doesn't have much of an eye for fixing up cars...

Um...all those companies make kits for the Sedans too......not just hatches....

As long as they can still see a red tint on the lense, you'll be fine. Just don't darken them all the way black. Just 3-5 light coats will do you fine.

It would be best to atleast spray some clear coat over the hood though....just to stop the resin from clouding up over time.

^^ um..... uhhh...... well...

ahhhh..... ehhhh.....

If that's what you want on your car, by all means....but personally, I wouldn't let either of those wings you posted even be CLOSE to my car....

Don't let anyone tell you what to do, BUT, this community is here to give inspiration and support in helping you make a car that is right for YOU.

Sometimes you'll find the SAP wings on Ebay...but I didn't see any a second ago.

I have a 2007 sedan, with the SAP. I liked the moderate kit. The rear bumpers are nice, and really make a difference.

I would like to do something with the tail lights as well. Really looking for LED style for the sedan. I have a red car, so want to keep the red lights.

Here is what I would do:

Pro DTM Kit...all the way around.

Leave the stock spoiler or find a way to take it off and shave the holes. NO spoiler.

KW Coilovers

5zigen FNo1rc 17" black (Exel makes a copy...no bigs...just as well)

Carbon fiber stock hood. (all focus hoods are the same 00-04 & 05+)

Paint inside of stock headlights black or get ebay projectors.

Call it a day...get some motor mods.

:)

Just a heads up, if you want to avoid brokerage fees when ordering from the us avoid UPS at all cost. If ordering smaller item try to get them shipped with USPS, much cheaper. All you'll have to pay (if customs don't forget) is taxes and I think a 5$ administration fee.

And while i'm here, +1 for the SAP spoiler

I don't really want to screw with the motor while I'm still under warranty.
Which rear bumper goes good with the pro-dtm kit?
Intake and Exhaust won't void your warranty.

usaully, when you order the Pro DTM kit...a Pro DTM front bumper comes with it...

Yah I'm not worried about the custom's fee's, just those damn broker fee's. Fedex have high fee's too?
That's why I stay away from UPS. Last times I was shipped someting with FedEx they didn't charge me any broker feess, but it wasn't a large item, just some pc parts. Might be worth to check with them.

I think USPS can do up to a 70lbs package, so I always try to go with them first. Except for bodykits and wheel/tires, they can deliver almost anything to Canada for much less than brokers.

Happy shopping

Not to mention the fact that I've yet to ever see an '05+ Pro DTM kit on any vehicle other than the Photoshop of Mr. Krabbs with '05+ headlights on eBay and the Extreme Dimensions website :dunno:

If I were you here's what I'd do: Focus Sport front lip colormatched, SVT or SAP sideskirts, SAP rear bumper, SAP Package 1 spoiler (the littler one, not the ugly EVO ripoff one), Eibach Pro-Kit (~1.5" of lowering) or Eibach Pro-Kit Plus (~2.2" of lowering) depending on your quality of roads, paint the headlights black, LIGHTLY (1 - 2 coats) put some Niteshades on the tails, 16" or 17" (depending on your preference) Rota Slipstreams or Rota Grids (again, depending on your preference) in Full Royal Sports Bronze, and finally round it off by calling F2 and seeing if they have any more of their ST-TT :)lol:) fiberglass hoods left to order.

It's a long list, but I think you'll see that it's a proper setup, not overly spendy, and will allow you to stay low-key whilst you save up for the FS Stage II kit and FS Stealth exhaust ;)
