big question who has a supercharger and who has turbo and what differences did they make in 1/4 mile times i rand an 18.3 at 76 MPH with full tank of gas and engine at normal temperature.
(i couldn't get the thing to do a cold run.) i got a nice quote for a stage 2 kit i'll add water injection

personally I would get a super charger o yea poeple say they take away to get power. Well if that was the case why would people being buying then if your not making that much power. and for the little I said little bit of power there talking away to turn the blower your gainging for having to wait for the turbo to spool

Because most ppl new to FI think turbo's have lag and superchargers make instant power and tourq.

Sure turbo's will have to spool, a good matched turbo system will start to spool around 2000 RPM's and make full power around 3000 RPM's. Now ask a supercharger owner when there blower makes full power, depending on the blower some have to wait for red line. Now what takes longer, waiting for red line or waiting for 3000 RPM's?
The engery needed to turn a blower can be high, I'm not sure exsactly, but I would'nt be surprized if it takes 25-30%.

Not all blowers are the same, some are better then others. Before you buy anything you'll have to do a lot of research, and find out what your power goal is before you start.

of course not all blowers are the same. same goes for a turbo yea a turbo is a turbo and there all the same not true same goes with a blower. If you want a turbo to out perform anything then twin turbo a car put a big turbo for top speed and use a smaller turbo for take off. My number one choice for a turbo kit would probably be the roush its a trusted name that you can depend on and can garantee that it is going to give you some serious power. For blower/supercharger I would have to go with jackson racing only going by from what I have had in the past jackson gives you some great power gains. if you want to go all out why not put a super charger and a turbo on your set up.....

Because these aren't made for our engines and noone is willing to drop the dough to see what it'd take to make them fit.

i just found out the guy i go through Derek(trixtersracing.com) does a remote turbo kit for the focus relitively inexpensive for the gains he said i shoud be pushing 255 hp at the wheels with it not bad

How many SPI Foci's has he done? How much is "relitively inexpensive"?

Sorry homie, I hate to braek it to ya... but not even the zetec can make 255 without a high output turbo kit. Say, maybe Tom's. But there is no way an SPI is gonna make 255 at the wheels. Ask Tin Maddog, his SPI is turbo'd and I dont think he's even making 200 hp at the wheels.

The guys are right. If your lucky you may get above or near 200 hp on stock internals if tuned properly plus!!!!! depends if your running and auto or manuel tranny. If its automatic your looking to search deeper in the pockets. I'm headed that way myself and u will need to look into lentech for your tranny needs. Plus if u want to go 255hp u will need to upgrad all your internals and a big turbo.

There's an SPI escort with 212whp, so I can believe 255 is attainable.
But I highly doubt the kit you guys are bashing is going to hit 255whp without some crazy mad tuning and some high boost with lots of timing retard

Hey everyone. How tough is the SPI.I too can't make my mind up weither to out a SVT or stick with the SPI.Yeah I've notice some has out a turbo on it.But at the same time your not even near the 200 mark.I've built many civics and biy thay can hold the power.But am a foci now and want to see how much I can put it to her.What do you guys think..

I hope one us will see 300hp with a turbo of course. I'm sure with forged pistons & rods and several other goodies it's possible right!!!!!! or am i just dreaming
