Well it looks as like my fuel pump has gone and I wanted to find the part number for the SVT fuel pump as I was under the impression that it is different than the stock ZX3. After talking to my parts guy who talked to the detroit ford parts guru and he said the part number is the same for the zx3 as it is for the svt, part# 2M5Z9H307AD. I then called SVT and they said they thought it was different, but they could not give me a part number. I would really like to get to the bottom of this as I do not want a lower output pump put in by mistake. Can any one help?

Also SVT said they were un aware of any problems with the SVT pump. I have seen many people say they have had theirs replaced, but SVT denies there is a problem. If you had your pump replaced sound off in this thread as I will be sending svt the link.

I am 90% positive there are differneces between the fuel pumps. However the actual "pump" itself might be the same. There is a housing type of thing attached to it that seems to have different flow abilities and seems to be the difference between the two pumps. I'm sorry if my verbage is all wrong here. But I think that might be the difference, but like I said, I am relatively sure they are different.

I understood that we share the pumps with ZX3's and the 2.3 is different. Yet, everyone with cobras upgrades to twin focus pumps (never specifies SVT). So, I dunno...

No doubt they are different. FS and SCC mag did a comparo on the 2 pumps.
Do you have the part number for the SVT version. I do not know how they could be the same unless they have upgraded the stock zx3 part to the SVT part. I know for a fact they were different, but maybe they have made the SVT part the same now..could this mean they new of the problems the SVT pump was having and have now made a new pump that fits SVT and ZX3

The svt fuel pump is rated at 217 lph at 40 psi.
In NA application it can support up to 450bhp or around 400whp.
In FI application say 20 psi it can support up to 350bhp or around 308whp(new fuel pressure at this boost level is 60psi).
The svt pump is the second highest returnless fuel pump(ford).
The navigator pump is a bit higher not by much and cost more$$$$.

ok this is what all the local part guys seem to indicate is the svt fuel pump part numbers

2002 svt focus PFS162 #2M5Z9H307AD
2003 svt focus PFS204 #354Z9H307BC

both those parts seem to be the same for the same year ZX3. I also checked rockauto parts and their website confirms it. I will call SVT tomorrow and see if they will confirm it. This contradicts what everyone has thought but I can't seem to confirm that svt fuel pump is different.

I just read the Kenny bell boost a pump article where they flow tested the SVT pump. They said the number off of the pump was PT# 3S4U9350AA. If any one is a parts person can they please look up that number and see if it cross references to one of the part numbers I posted above?

Didn't Ford change the pump or something to do with the fuel sytem for 2004 SVTF's? I thought that was one of the reasons they came with the ZEDO ECU code instead of just the YRFO.

O.K. lets get this whole thread straight.

There is no difference between a regular ZX3 pump and an SVT pump.

All Zetec Foci use the same pumps in their particular model years.

2001-
1M5Z-9H307-CA this is the upgraded recall pump.

2002-
early 1M5Z-9H307-CA
late 2M5Z-9H307-AD

2003 and 2004 share the same pump.
3S4Z-9H307-BC

The Duratec cars do use different pumps.

My '02 SVT uses the 2M5Z-9H307-AD pump, I can tell you that I sell the '03 Focus pumps to guys with '03-'04 Cobra Mustangs because their pump housings have two pump motors in them and the individual Focus pumps do flow more than the individual Cobra pumps.

I can also tell you that the Focus pump does not flow much if at all better than a stock Mustang GT pump so when guys with high HP GT's need to upgrade they either go to a Lincoln Aviator pump or spend the big bucks and upgrade to the '03-'04 Cobra tank and dual pump setup.

It is possible that all '02 SVT's were built with the late build pump and that is where the myth of the SVTF pump came from but I gaurantee that there are lots of standard Foci out there running the same pump.

I have no specs on the pumps, only catalog listings so it is possible that the late ones have a higher flow rating but I have no way to know that.

When I sell them to Cobra guys I sell the '03-'04 pump because it is the least expensive.

I hope all this makes sense.

Bumping this ancient post because it’s good information.

What's the difference between the 03-04 pumps and the later 02 pump? I know they are different part numbers, but are they interchangeable? My SVT has the 02 pump, but I never tried to the fit the 03-04 style. Into the earlier cars, what was the recall pump? You had to cut the retaining lock rings out of the bottom of the tank to fit the newer pump. I had the recall done on my 2001 in... 2006 or 2007. I can look back to see if I have the paperwork and see what pump they installed.

FPDM, ECU, etc. should all not need any changes. I would be shocked of the pump plug off the FPDM is any different.
