Anybody have the part # for the rear lower control arm for the SVT. Dealer has no clue about the difference from the regular Focus #

Actually the build is going quite well. Tranny and Engine are done except for the computer tunes. (Go Randy Go). Almost all the supension parts, see above, are in or ordered. We just got the seats and the steering wheel.

Lorin gave us orders on what he needs for the web site, so we will be working on that this weekend.

The car is already very quick, except in the handling department.

Thanks Blue-73, I'll let you know if I need the numbers.

I'm putting in new shocks and a few more parts for the SVT as well.

I don't believe there is any difference, we will be putting a regular one on a SVT hopefully tomorrow.

I'll let you know how it goes. I looked at them and they seemed the same

Yes, there IS a different part number. I know I saw it here on the jet. Try searching Toulsey Ford's posts.

If you want my VIN you're gonna have to call modacar.

Emily's will probably be easier to get. I won't have the car for a few more days I don't think.

If you run a large (>=24mm) rear sway bar AND relatively soft springs it puts stress on the RLCA they weren't designed for. Several have been known to break from this stress. Competition will obviously be harder on the car in general, but the combination isn't good any way you slice it.

The '04 SVT RLCA's have an extra support plate welded on for this very reason. Upgrading would be a matter of preventative maintenance.

There is a bit of discussion currently taking place among those in the know about whether even the SVT RLCA's reinforcement is enough. Some have gone so far as to weld a bunch of extra support on. Some are talking about bolt-on reinforcements. It's a solution that is currently being developed by a handfull of grass-roots guys.
