Well ladies, I finally did it. I haven't had a chance to drive it & test cuz I finished late last night. The install was pretty smooth & straight fwd. I'll let you know how it is soon.

I hope you have ABS on your car so that you'll have EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution). It's going to be working overtime! The back is going to have WAY more bite than it should now. I'd suggest you put some good, grippy brake pads on the front and go find the cheapest, hardest "lifetime warranty" pads you can for the back of a SVT and install them. That'll help the balance a little bit.

I thought the svt rear brakes were the same as the zx3 disc brakes.

2 wheel ABS?
Or do you mean 2 channel ABS (which is what you get on the Focus as far as I know)?

As for the Greenstuff pads being grippy, the jury is still out on that one.
Just be careful with the setup you've got now.

Are the pads the same size then? 'Cause the rears are readily available, but the fronts can be had in oem only.

What happened to the factory part numbers that used to be here? I can seem to find them. I'm talking about the Ford parts needed to do the TCE rear disk upgrade.

Todd,

Any chance you could add those numbers as a reference on your web site?

Guys,

My ROTOR UPSIZE package is fit for the ZX3 package, however I also do the SVT version. I cannot verify the parts list above but it looks pretty complete. However some of what you need may be in a package from Ford- the hubs come with bearings for example. The need for all new hardware is in the eye of the purchaser. The only thing you WON'T need to do my upsize package is the Ford rear rotor. That'll save you about $230 or so to put towards my kit....lol

Hope this helps.

Todd,

What I was looking for are the part numbers (for the Ford parts) needed to complete your upgrade. You give a list of the parts needed on your website, but not the part numbers. I want to get these parts because I'll (finally) do my brakes this winter.

Also, is there a way to upgrade the rear caliper to a more "bling" unit without losing the e-brake?

Phil,

I know this info has been posted before for exactly what you want to do. I may have copied it, not sure. Let's search togetther and see what comes up.

Email me privately and we can pass the info around to save some time and space here.

As for the second question; no. There is no real, easy, sane way of doing what you propose without some compromise. And headache.

Believe this is what I cut and edited from a former post:

1S4Z.2200.BA Rear Pads (1 set)
98AZ.4A013.AA Right rear disc spindle (1)
98AZ.4A013.BA Left rear disc spindle (1)
YS4Z.1A034.AA Rear Hub and bearing (2)
2M5Z.2C028.AA Right rear disc shield (1)
2M5Z.2C028.BA Left rear disc shield (1)
1S4Z.2553.AA Left rear caliper (1)
1S4Z.2552.AA Right rear caliper (1)
1M5Z.2A603.AB Parking brake cable (1)
YS4Z.1A154.AA Hub grease cap (4)
YS4Z.2B384.BA ABS Ring (2)
2M5Z.2B582.AA Rear caliper mounting plate (2)

Notes: The need for the grease caps and ABS rings are questionable of course depending upon the car. The old caps are the same, but may be damaged upon removal. These parts are related to the AdvTrac package and do not represent the parts used on the SVT package. In any case they will provide the basis for my rotor upsizing kit.

Estimated cost: $850 plus my $435, total $1200+.
