From Autoblog.com via Winding RoadWinding Road managed to corner Jamal Hameedi, Chief Nameplate Engineer at SVT, at a Ford event in Detroit this morning. Hameedi revealed to WR that nearly all of SVT's resources are busy developing a new truck, and by "truck" he means a "body-on-frame" vehicle. Thus, whether it's a new F-150 Lightning or possibly a different F-Series model, an Explorer, Expedition or Ranger is unkown.
So, no Ford Taurus SHO developed by SVT or SVT Fusion. This kind of makes sense if one considers that the Lightning was supported throughout SVT's reign of terror in the '90s. Hameedi is reportedly extremely excited about the project, saying the finished product "...will blow your mind."

Seeing as SVT tends to release the SVT variant of a car two years after it's launch (contour, focus) I highly doubt they would bother with the 08 since it's justsupposed to be a placeholder.CheckMyVitals said:I would LOVE to see what SVT could do with the '08 Focus.
That has potential to be a seriously good looking car.
Just what we need with $4/gal coming. A 400+HP TRUCK! More proof that Ford needs to fire more people and has a long way to go before it turns around. Thus, whether it's a new F-150 Lightning or possibly a different F-Series model, an Explorer, Expedition or Ranger is unkown.
igor2 said:this is just a speculation, but knowing Ford power trains, it will be the Adrenaline Sport Track with the Twin Force D35 - HP between 350 and 415 ... Torque 350 - 390 ft/lbs
Then in 2012 or so, the new F150 will get a TwinForce 6.2l V8 possibly well above 500hp (definitely above 625ft/lbs)

QFT. The current Ranger is an embarrassment compared to it's competitionOmniFocus said:I definitely can't get behind a Ranger product... unless it comes on an all-new Ranger.
