What is a good sway bar recommendation for the svt?

im looking for good spirited driving and some future auto-x will be running hte koni sport kit with it. Any recommendations?

So far Im thinking 22mm in front and 28mm in back.

28mm? Holy [censored]!

At that level, you're talking pure race car bars. They would probably be very good at an open track event. However, they won't perform well at all for an autocross. In an autocross, you basically want the biggest possible front/rear difference. (Either a big rear bar to maximize rotation, or a big front bar to... well, Carl must be doing something right
) IMO, it won't handle that well on the street either. It will corner perfectly flat, but you'll effectively be driving on a solid rear axle. Anything but a perfectly smooth road will throw a wrench into it.

I would recommend trying to get a second-hand Progress rear bar. The change from 21 to 22 mm in the rear is very noticeable, and you really want to try suspension mods slowly at first. If you're really set on the idea of big sway bars, the Eibach set is a little less extreme than the 22/28 you're thinking of.

For Auto-X, I'd recommend your SVT front bar and at most a 24mm rear bar.
I don't know the F/R bias of the Koni springs, but If you go too large with the rear bar, with anything shy of HEAVY RACE Springs, you're also risking breaking the rear control arms.
It's happened several times due to medium or softer springs with a medium to Large rear bar.
28mm is insane for anything shy of a Purpose-Built Race ONLY Track car with REALLY Stout Spring Rates, and a front bar in the 24mm range.
NOT recommended.

Honestly, I'd leave the front bar alone, and go with a 22-24mm rear bar.

with 24mm rear bar what would be a good spring setup for it? Would Koni's+koni's springs work well without harming the rear control arms? Or should I go with more agressive HR Race springs?

HAHAHA! Exactly the same exclamation I had when I read his post!!!

24 mm is a good place to stop on the rear bar.

On a budget, I'd have a go at the GAZ adjustable dampers from batinc.net and H&R Race Springs.
For a few more bucks, go with Koni dampers.
I have Koni's, but those GAZ look darn good for the price.
Beyond that, you're looking at coilovers.
I make this recommendation based on the fact that you will be Auto-X'ing.
It's not the most comfy daily-driver setup, but IMO, it is entirely comfy enough, and I've done many roadtrips of hundreds of miles and have no complaints even after hours in the car. You just need to be careful of abrupt traintracks and pavement dropoffs/ledges.
Otherwise, the setup is Firm, but not abusive.

i need to keep it a daily driver as well..im not sure if HR race springs are good that extra .3-.5 of a drop can cause me to scrape, i already scrape my underside of the car with a factory SVT on my driveway...and I live in the most pothole infested city i can think of
whats a good spring to go with konis only going a 1.5" drop or so (and since i have SVT I know it'll only drop 1" if its 1.5") i can sacrifice some comfort, hence the konis so i can adjust it

The Apex springs were a good option, but are hard to find now.
It'd be nice to know the rates of the Koni springs...
I'll try to remember the other options later.

22 mm rear bar very good setup for svt suspension. But if u have more stiff springs or different suspension setup, try the 24mm rear bar. I'm sure u will be very happy....
And also you can buy a urethane bushings and a adjustable end links for the front...

do i really need adjustable end links for the front? i heard you dont even really need the urethane bushings for the front either.

I also hear the front is a BITCH to remove lol
You don't need adjustable endlinks. Unless you really know your stuff, you'd probably be better off leaving them alone. You don't need urethane bushings, either. But for that matter, you don't need new sway bars.

what do you think about the HR Sport springs with the Koni's? Would that be good enough for the 24mm hr sway? or should i just stick with the progress 22mm?
With those, I'd stick w/ the 22mm Progress bar.

Perhaps consider some SVT/Intrax springs; they are progressive rate so they ride relatively nicely, and while they are not ideal for autocrossing, they still (IMO) worked pretty well--and they ride a fair amount better than the H&R race springs every day. They are hard to find, but are on ebay every so often...and I know where you can find a gently used set as well
