I have the switch for my neons there. A 3/4" round switch fits pretty good.

Yes there is a shift light, but it is geared to give you the best fuel economy. So if you shift when it tells you to, you end up in 5th gear going about 32mph.Isn't there a light in the guage cluster that comes on to tell you to shift? I have an automatic, so I don't have one. It would be fairly simple though, just tap into the wire thats connected to that light and run it to a bank of leds or a small bulb that resides in the cig lighter.
Thats what I would do, wouldn't that do the trick?
He's talking about a racing shift light, not a fuel-economy shift light. He can program it to light at a custom RPM, like 6000, or whatever he wants to shift at for max HP or torque. You'd have to tap into the wiring that goes to the original light in the cluster and run the wires from that to a light in the ciggerette lighter for it to fucntion the same way...and then you don't have to worry about that.
Or
Cut the wires going to the light in the cluster, solder new wires to the ends and run them to the cigerette lighter so that way, thats the only light that goes on, otherwise you'd have too.
If thats how its done, thats fairly simple.
