Oh and by cutting a hole in the hood i mean putting a hood scoop over the hole and making a real ram air, not just cutting a huge gaping hole and leaving it for rain to fall in. So here's the plan to make a ram air out of a hood scoop. hole in hood is the easy part, air comes in from front, down piping, piping turns into a ONE loop spiral for the air to travel downhill and then uphill. I'm hoping that this spiral idea will avoid any vaporlocking issues. drill a small drainhole in the bottom of the spiral to deal with any moisture issues. because air follows the path of least restriction (much like electricity) it will continue in it's path toward my intake manifold, hopefully without any adverse effects and making a nice little short ram air intake. My lack of pipe bending equipment leaves me limited to 2.5 or 3 inch PVC piping. i figure the air is going to be moving fast enough that I won't have to worry about cooling issues since the piping will be so short.

Can you zombie a sticky?

Anyway, I'm trying to decide what to get for my '02 focus. I'm pretty much going to have to get a short because we get a lot of flooding where I live in So. IL...

Apparently I'm blind because where I look I can't seem to find one that fits my model... It's the SE, and the vin code is a "P" in the engine... as in 1FAFP34P62xxxxxxx...

Any suggestions?

Have a great day!

you have the 2.0 split port injection single overhead cam engine. i have that same car with the same engine. I got the K&N typhoon cold air intake but You have to modify it for the sohc engine because its designed for the 2.0 zetec Dual overhead cam engine. ill show you pics and list whats needed when I get done with my install and ill say where I got them from.

Your ecu is tuned for 87 octane. I tried 89 and 93 a few times in mine and it ran way worse and gas mileage was crappy.

There is NO reason to pay that much for 93 when it does nothing for the car.
